Hi Macro folks! I'm a seven year beginner in macrobiotics. I'm originally from Minnesota, was introduced to macrobiotics in Boulder, Colorado, and am currently working on a graduate degree in Davis, California. Any advice on tasty macro food for these amazing California Central Valley summers would be appreciated (who has an appetite for anything when it's over 95 degrees F or 35 degrees C?)
My degree is in Restoration Ecology and I am conducting research on restoring/managing grasslands and invasive species/weed control. My emphasis is on strengthening ecosystems so that they are better able to fend off invading species without need for a whole bunch of chemicals. Sort of a macrobiotic approach to ecology, I guess.
When I'm not out wandering in the prairies I can be found wandering the streets of Davis looking for a hill (I miss the mountains), working on some web page or another, or debating politics, the 60s, and history with my outspoken spouse, Thomas.
