Hi David, I was intrigued by the study/teaching program you proposed. Here is Melbourne, there is the Australian School of MAcrobiotics. There were two beautiful centres which have closed successively. Yet there is a great deal of intrest and enthusiasm for wholefood ideas. There was a seminar with a teacher from Europe this past weekend and many people attended and expressed that more teachers like this with enthusiasm and passion would be welcome here. When I finished Year 12, I went to study at Heartwood Institute in Northern California and also attended the Mendocino Macrobiotic Camp. In that one week my eyes were opened to so many new ideas and little bits of information made me reinterpret my own macrobiotic practise many times. The same thing has happened many times through internet interaction with other practitioners of a macrobiotic lifestyle. After all that (mochi) waffle I come to a time when I have finished a university degree, am being urged to continue academically, but want to put into practise all that I have learnt. Reach out and assist others. I agree that once one eats this way and lives this way, the way that most of the world works becomes incompatible. I glance through the job classifieds and none of the positions offered seem ethical or fulfilling to me. The macro school here asked me to teach a series of classes Elemental Alchemy - A journey through the Five Elements. Although this is just a few sessions, it has wet my appetite for teaching. I am just at a loss as to how to make this economically and practically feasible. Any suggestions and commentary would be very much appreciated. Ilanit |
