For Kathy from Nashville

Hi Kathy...I guess your post was the last one to go through MountainArk before it was shut down...they say until Thursday or Friday...so I'm taking a chance that you might come here, plus others can see how the Pacific Macrobiotic Conference works...here is my response to you this morning...Bill

Good morning Kathy...Sounds great...you work on your end and we'll discuss it with everybody in March...I can't give you the agenda now because it's set by the participants. The procedure is to find a house/church/etc with a kitchen. Then a cook. We also ask local people to provide sleeping space, like on a floor, extra bed, etc., for those who don't have a lot of money. The conference goes through 5 pm Thursday evening until @noon on Sunday. After dinner on Thursday, those that are there and those who sent messages as to topics set the agenda for the next day, which runs 9-5 with dinner and lunch. After, Saturday's agenda is set. Ditto for Saturday and then Sunday is informal with a brunch. It now cost $80, but we need to raise it because food, cook, and facility costs have gone up. We will discuss this with everybody at Phoenix. We need a consensus on any decision of change. How is the weather in Nashville in late September? In NYC there's lots going on as far as MB restaurants...Angelica's Kitchen, (212) 228-2909; Bachue, (212) 229-0870; Mana Restaurant (212) 787-1110; Ozu, 787-8316; Plum Tree, 734-1412; Souen Restaurant, 627-7150 and Zen Palate, 582-1169. I'm not sure if all are still open...keep in touch, Bill
