Hello, My name is Naomi Celestin, I am 24 years old, and I'm fairly new in the macrobiotic lifestyle. I made the change about three months ago, after several years of vegetarianism. During the past two months, I've suffered with a variety of illnesses, everything from chest colds to skin rashes, to severe pains in my ovary. I've been told that this is a normal occurence called "discharging." My question is how long does this usually last? To help you answer, here's a brief run-down of my medical/lifestyle history. Born and raised in New Orleans, La. Living in Lafayette, La. for the past 5 yrs. I've always suffered with allergies and sinus problems. I had one ovary, and half of my female organs removed at 15 yrs. of age, due to a idiopathic, non-cancerous tumor growing there. My vegetarian lifestyle consisted of alot of wheat and dairy products, and also caffiene. I have a great husband, and one daughter, age 2 1/2 yrs. old. My home life is harmonious. I have a relatively low stress job in arts administration. I practice yoga @ once a week. So what do you think about all the illness? I'm ready to get more deeply involved in macrobiotics, and the chronic sickness is discouraging. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. |
