Hi! My Name is Jenny and I am new to the "Macrobiotic way" and something called ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura). I have been studying macrobiotics for about the past month and after reading all of the wonderful benefits-I changed my eating habits 2 weeks ago. I really enjoying the food! I have a serious question. My father was diagnosed with ITP. It is a very serious disease. Basically, as I understand, with this disease-your immune system breaks down your platlets in your blood; eventually your blood is unable to clot and you internally bleed to death. (I do not know that much about this disease-I am still rather confused-so what I stating about ITP may be a bit off.) Since I am absolutely convinced that my father and mother should start eating marcobiotically-I have been trying to convince them of the wonderful effects macrobiotics will have on them. My mother is now is studying it herself to gain insight and understanding to the whole spectrum of ITP and Macrobiotics. My question is this-untill they will go to a macrobiotic counselor-if there any particular foods that my dad should eat and foods that my dad should stay away from??? Anyone out there that can give any insight to ITP and macrobiotics-I really would appreciate it. I will do anything to help my dad. I have lost my step-dad and my child in the past two years. Thank you for your time. Jenny. :) ! |
