Amount of sea-vegs?

Hi. I'm very new to macrobiotics and want to ask about the recommended amount of sea-vegs. In a book of mine the author recommends that 5% of the totale of the days food should be sea-vegs - is that generelly OK? (I guess it can't refer to dry weight, then, at least?) How is it with the iodine, would it be possible to get too much of it if I eat, say, 100 g sea-vegs a day? Any special kinds of sea-vegs to be restrictive with because of the iodine?

Another of my questions is how I should balance the meals if I want to loose wieght - I mean, if I'm restrictive with the amount I eat, generelly, should I still keep the ordinary recommended proportions, or should I for example eat more vegetables, proportionately?
