Hi Bruce...I was diagnosed with hepatitis B, 30% cirrhosis, and a five year timetable for liver failure. I had been vegetarian with some fish and fowl for 15 years. Initially I went the modern medical route hoping I would fall into the small percentage of successes. Nothing changed and I was not improving. I explored every alternative I was aware of. No where was macrobiotics even mentioned. Symptoms of liver strain were present in herpes and a horrendous skin rash. Modern medicine could not help me on either count. I asked if it was diet related and they said no. Two or three years later a chiropractor friend of mine who had been using macrobiotics in his practice one day out of the blue suggested that I try it. He helped me with an appropriate eating and compress program. I was finally getting answers to a lot of unanswered questions. I totally involved myself in the healing process, learning process, and the changes necessary to make macrobiotics work. Bill
