I had a follow-up session with a lady from Russia on Saturday morning. She related to me she had been listening to the news from Russia and hearing that the refugees of the war in Yugoslavia were refusing to take the food from the US flown in for them because it was not recognizable as food to them. Instead they are finding potatoes and foraging for wild foods and making big pots of soup for everyone. So, the Standard American Diet (SAD) is seen by these people, even under the dire circumstances they find themselves in as a result of the utterly abominable actions of the US government and their minions, as being unfit for human consumption. The same SAD that millions of children in the US are consuming by the ton every day so that they become, among other consequences, depressed and unable to concentrate and then are prescribed psychiatric medications which make them act in completely subhuman ways. And this unfit-for-human-food is deemed safe for consumption by the US government. And no-one talks about the SAD as being the underpinning for the rise of violence and other symptoms of social disease in the US these past forty years. For example - what was the most heinous crime committed at school? - in the 1950's .... chewing gum in class. - in the 1990's .... murder.
