Joan...macrobiotics isn't really a cure...what does happen though is that by feeding the body balanced food and moderate lifestyle, the body will heal itself. And this happens over and over again. There are many people and many books telling of these experiences. If there is any chance at all of turning this thing around (without a transplant if they do them in this type of case) then eating balanced food for his condition, constitution, and climate is a good direction. How is he practicing macrobiotics? Therein may be the reason for some of the difficulties. This is where Kushi may be able to help and your brother should do what he feels is right.
