Thank you.
: I am currently taking cooking lessons
from the cook who helped Aveline Kuchi to heal her cancer. According to my
teacher, Aveline was eating a very yang diet (even for a Japanese person) with a
lot of salt, tempura, strong miso, etc. This contributed to her uterine cancer.
She began to eat a more yin style diet, with a dish called Nabe every evening.
This is mostly vegies with a lot less grain. She was able to overcome her
cancer. I am writing this because there is a real danger of macro people getting
too Yang, especially following a Japanese syle diet. Too much salt leads to
repression of feelings, conformity, intellectualism, and a lack of curiousity.
Americans are not Japanese--we value individuality, women's rights, etc. These
are not the values of Japan, and a Japanese style diet is not right for most
Americans. I know from experience. Let's learn from Avaeline's experience and
lighten up. I wish the community would talk openly about Avaeline's
experience--it could teach us all a lot. Guess we are still too yang to be open
about this.
