Three for the price of one

Two words to the wise:

If writing a long post, copy it before going to do anything else!!!! When thoughts were still fresh in my mind I wrote a wonderful exciting post - saw it was from "unregistered" and couldn't understand that, tried to fix it and lost the entire post. It was an exciting post, not because I'm egoistic, but because I was still under the influence of that evening's chat, which I will try to recapture part of, but doubt I can do it justice.

Second advice: For those whose time zone comes out in the evening for the chats, take a nice long afternoon nap!!!! And straighten out your hours as soon as possible!!!!

I was privileged to take part in all of the four newest chats here at cybermacro. I knew each of the first three were very different from each other, has a suspicion the fourth would also be different, but had no idea of how wonderfully different it would turn out!!!

It turned out to be three different chats, one flowing from the previous, yet the contributing members making each a memorable chat in itself.

The first one, as announced, was led by Ginat Rice, the topic being Who is Macrobiotic? After you read the transcript, this topic can be continued here on this forum - you can read for yourself all the highlights and gems that we discussed - I won't even try to sum it up, better you see the original.

Then after the official chat was over a few of us hung around and started informally, just kind of getting to know each other and joking around. Then this chat also got into some very thoughtful ideas, on being, on letting be (thank you Waco). It opened me up and although I'm still digesting the ideas, I can't tell you how exciting it was to have new possibilities of - what? - of everything, of life.

I'm not sure of the final decision if this chat will be transcribed - it was quite long, to say the least.

And then there were four (muskateers? indians?) of us left, and we were very excited how the chats were developing and had great lofty ideas where we could go with the chats, we were thinking BIG and the excitement was contagious!!!! And although we finally parted ways, one to make her lunch, a couple for their evening activities and me for my very late going to bed (was already 2:30 a.m., chat began at 9:00 p.m. for me) I was so full of energy that I couldn't go to sleep. Thus my advice for a nap!!!

Now I wonder what surprizes next Sunday will bring!!!!

Gary mentioned that people sometimes go to the chat room just to see if anyone else is there. Perhaps some of you who do that can announce when you'll be there, to make it more likely to find others. Kind of like Russian Roulette otherwise, no??

Looking forward to chatting with you all again.

Klara

Re: Three for the price of one

It is good having the oppertunity to chat with people in real time!

I generally don't seem to be able to make it to the scheduled chat, but have had some intersting chats afterwards when have got home form work.

Thankyou everyone!

So if you can't make it to the official gig, come to the after party!

Klara - Was just looking for a quote your post reminded me of, the first site i clicked on didn't give me what i was after, but gave me this little gem instead....

"Everything is perfect, with much room for improvement."

-Shunryu Suzuki-roshi

Re: Three for the price of one

Mark,

Your quotes are great.

Forgive me, I'm not an expert at this computer discussion thing - do you prefer to be called Waco, or is Mark the way to connect? These nicknames confuse me, especially on sites like this one - they're cute, but, aren't they for being anonymous, and is there some advantage to being anonymous here in the macro world, where honesty is highly valued?

Remember the book, I believe something like "I'm not OK, You're not OK, and that's OK" or was that just another great line on that other famous book?

Mark/Waco, can you post when you think you'll be on the chat?

I apologize that I had to get off just as you made your appearance. I felt I kind of left you lurching. "Nothing personal, strictly business" you know!!! I had to return to my real role as mother.

To everyone else, the chats really are more exciting when there's lots of different people and lots of different energies. I mean I truly loved our very intimate one last Sunday - the three of us "know" each other already from much exchange of posts over the last years and the best thing is I have truly gotten over my fear of what "chat" means. I'm perplexed why people don't show up - maybe we can have some kind of poll, what the reasons are that people can't make the chats.

I know for the next two Wednesdays, the time is going to be a challenge for me. I'll take my own advice, I hope, and take a nap, so I can get up at 3:00 in the morning to meet these mb personalities. (8:00 p.m. EST, Wednesdays) The Great Life, enjoying new opportunities. I am very much enjoying the chats. Thank you Gary for making them possible.

Re: Three for the price of one

Ah, ive found the quote i was after....

A Zen Master lived the simplest kind of life in a little hut at the foot of a mountain. One evening, while he was away, a thief sneaked into the hut only to find there was nothing in it to steal. The Zen Master returned and found him. "You have come a long way to visit me," he told the prowler, "and you should not return empty handed. Please take my clothes as a gift." The thief was bewildered, but he took the clothes and ran away. The Master sat naked, watching the moon. "Poor fellow," he mused, " I wish I could give him this beautiful moon."

Hi Klara!

Just logged into chat, looks like Gary might be there too!

I use Waco as my name as many forums already have someone regstered as Mark! But call me whatever, i don't mind!

I'm afraid i can't let you know when i will be on as i don't plan my life that much! i try to pop on afterwork on sundays, at about an hour and a half after the chat starts
