Hi,
I am new to the macro way of life and am confused by this yin, yang stuff Is it really neccesary that I understand it? It seems so unneccesarily complicated. I just want to feel healthy!! Can you suggest a good book, that explains it CLEARLY and EASILY? I have read the Cancer Prevention Diet ( I don't have caner). Should I read Osawa??? Thanks Misoman |

The concept of yin/yang is very important to understand in order to create balance in harmony with the natural order of the universe. Macrobiotics is the science of yin and yang.
Two ways to begin to understand it and they both go hand in hand. One, is to read about it. Ohsawa's Philosophy of Oriental Medicine is a good start. It is important to note that we are talking about macrobiotic (original) yin and yang, not Chinese yin and yang. For a further explantion of why macrobiotic yin and yang is the original, go to the articles section on Cybermacro. Ohsawa explains it in the intro to Philosophy of Oriental Medicine. Roy Collins explains it in more detail. Second, and perhaps the most important, is cooking for yourself. Without this, in my opinion, you will not get an understanding or a grasp of yin and yang. Misoman,
Check out this site: The Order of the Universe and The Unique Principle ( http://www.cybermacro.com/pages/userpages/ohmacro.html ) and check out Bill's link and others at "Other Places to go" toward that page's bottom. Thank you, very much. Bruce Paine |
