Re: Ghosts?
Oh, hell yea, I believe in ghosts. I used to see them when I was younger and communicate with them.
And today, quite ironically, I'm scared to ..well, not death..let's just say I'm paranoid regarding the supernatural. |

C'mon guys
Geez, 400+ registered here, and no one has any opinions or experiences to share?
I guess I'm a "ghost agnostic" but I have felt some "spooky vibes" in certain places I've been. Last edited by MJS; 03-01-2004 at 05:27 PM. |

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO , MJS!Did I scare ya? Having only had seemingly supernatural experiences (sorry no ghosts or demons!) while under the influence of pychoactive and psychadelics during the 1960s and seventies, I guess I'm sort of a ghost agnostic, myself. Though a fan of the character "Angel" http://www.foxhome.com/angel/season3/, I don't believe in vampires. I'm wondering what my experience of ghosts could be and if it might just be my imagination. Thank you, very much. Bruce Paine |

Re: C'mon guys
Hi Bruce -- I wonder, myself. I've heard it said that it's a matter of being extremely sensitive, so naturally I wondered if you sensitive macro people would have had experiences of the supernatural. Of course, we are supposedly as grounded as we are sensitive, so on the other hand perhaps we are not so susceptible to illusions as others?
Do Ohsawa, Kushi or others ever express any views on the supernatural? Thanks -- Mara Last edited by MJS; 02-21-2004 at 04:11 PM. |

"Ishi, what do you think about this?
It's a "haunted wine chest" someone is trying to sell on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...648&category=12" Well, either someone has a load of spare time on their hands and a wine cabinet or it's true. Could be, couldn't be, I'm not one to judge. |

Re: C'mon guys
Bruce Paine asked:
"To return to the topic at hand... most people who believe in ghosts and other supernatural beings and events, what do they eat? What types of foods do you suppose contributes to what kinds of experiences and interpretations of those experiences?" I imagine a very yin diet causes these spiritual experiences in some cases. In theory the less "earthed" one is the more attuned they are to the "spirit world", in theory, right? Also a yin diet can cause a wild imagination , if we are to believe that a "wild imagination" is all there is to reports of supernatural phenomena (which I don't necessarily). And trauma, of course, can cause hallucinations. There are some REALLY good ghost stories out there, though, Bruce -- really hard to dismiss. If you are to believe them, these ghosts don't seem to give a damn what people are eating, they are pretty "independent spirits" (ha ha.) P.S. Ishi, you were raised "macrobiotic" right? Re: Ghosts?
In terms of being raised macro, just about - I was put on the diet at 10 months old.
And your diet doesn't have to be necessarily yin to see ghosts. One of the yangest people I know can be quite frequent with them at times - it's just in his Nine Star Ki numbers. |

About the ghosts, you know, we're just tossing around ideas here. I'm not too familiar with the Nine Star Ki, is it the same as the system feng shui uses? And which numbers predispose one to seeing ghosts? Were there certain places you were more inclined to see these apparitions? Did they frighten you? I'm just interested...Thanks. MJ |

Re: Ghosts?
Eh, I wouldn't say I was too lucky - once you're a teenager after being brought up macrobiotic, you have to make the decision if you're going to stick with it or let it go.
Still, macrobiotics can be hard to practice in any situation, I find.Nine Star Ki is somewhat similar to the system Feng Shui uses, to the extent of my knowledge on that, but both are for different purposes. From what I've heard, 1s (or 1 Waters) are predisposed to seeing ghosts, or at least more so than any of the other numbers. Mind you, I learned that in passing conversation, so I'm not completely sure it's accurate. I usually saw my ghosts in my grandmother's house, on my mother's side of the family. She collected antiques, which I suppose had something to do with it. And at the time, no, they didn't frighten me. No problem with the interest. Quote:

Re: Ghosts?
Ishi--
As far as I'm concerned, for a healthy person, macro doesn't need to be an "all or nothing" venture. If you're sick it's a different story. But why don't you just enjoy yourself, have adventures, make the best of circumstances, and come back to macro when you're feeling off-balance, or just need some good home cooking? Your body will let you know. And a healthy body is remarkably resilient, this is what transmutation is all about. Cook when you can and want to, improvise the rest of the time. You are probably healthier than 95% of the population. Have faith & most important, have fun, that's my motto. Mara |

Re: Ghosts
bckiceman,
The following is your opinion: "For the record there are not ghosts." Then you attempt to back up your opinion with a supposed fact, through a book that is believed by many to be the divine origin and authority of the word of God, but by many others it is just a book written by mere mortals espousing their beliefs of what took place thousands of years ago and what they believe God, Jesus, and other spiritual leaders said. 'The Bible states that "while the living are conscious of their spiritual needs, the dead are conscious of nothing".' Does the Bible really tell the reader that there is a place of unconsciousness, that is neither Heaven nor Hell? That's news to me! "If you have had an experience with a ghost, it is most likely a demon." What is a demon? Is it a Biblical character or a construct that you have created? Since the Bible and belief in it appears to be subjective, then opinions based on it might be subjective, as well. I'm interested in any facts gathered about ghosts using objective criteria? Anyone here have experiences that they've interpreted objectively? Thank you, very much. Bruce Paine |
