Feng Shui

I guess I am overdoing things, but that is me. I want to learn macrobiotics, feng shui, yoga, meditation, deep breathing all in the next few days.....LOL.

My question about the feng shui book I am reading, is:

The five elements are related to seasons (earth being the most losely related). Does that then deem you to be of the type of element that your birth occurs in? Is it like an astrological sign? Are we ALL divided into 4 or 5 categories? It says you can have attributes of several but one is dominant. It indicates I would be water, but I seem more like wood.

The lucky Pah Kwa and the Magic Square are intriguing. I am just starting in on the eight remedies. The different chi's are equally fascinating. As I don't like fortune's being told, I will not like I Ching.

How many of you have feng shui'd your lives?

mistry's (brenda's) orientalism . . .

mb and feng shui are similar. you might even say that they're related! for instance, we eat yang to yin. we eat vegetables in season. we chew thoroughly. feng shui places wind chimes in the south, an aquarium in the north, the door in the east. this is oriental form of organization and systemization. toward peace and harmony. a tea ceremony. cherry trees. a little nuka pickle. a bowl of rice.

How nice that sounds! Provides stability and happiness. It makes me smile.
Thanks Mike.

These things that are mentioned as a prerequiste for the course will keep me busy learning about them.

Ironically, my hubby just moved to Canada from Boston. We can't go back there at this time (money, work, family, etc.) but at some time in the future I would love to attend. My hubby lived in a Zen temple for a while in that area. Thank you for advising us about this course Mike. I will check out that book.

anjuu....
