Well, here's my story. I am a writer, but recently had some problems conserning my health, and have had adopted the macrobiotic lifestyle in order to heal myself. However, since then, I haven't been able to write. Let me clairify. I like to write a lot of spooky stuff, but I found myself so healthy and balanced that the plot line won't come as easily as it use to. I believe that this was due to being contracted, a little on the irritated side, perhaps a bit chaotic, that I was able to write about the things I did. I would like to get bakc into the swing of things and put some new material on the table, but I would not like to go back to the way I was before! I mean, there's nothing like a good bowl of miso soup and brown rice in the morning. You understand? I was thinking of eating more yang foods, Kombu, Etc., but I was interested in hearing some of your suggestions. Fish seemed to help a little, but it didn't have that strong focus that has helped me write the way I have in the past. Thank you again, and I look forward to hear form you,
James

Re: An interesting case.
Hmmm...I think it has a lot to do with the clarification of your thoughts. I'm new to macro, too, and I've been noticing I have less drive to pursue acting right now. It's interesting! I'm still motivated and I still love the art, yet I don't feel as connected with the business anymore and I'm not as worried about my outcome. However, I am very happy to be macro and I am realizing it's amazing benefits, physically and mentally! So, I would suggest not tampering with what you've been given. Enjoy your new health and well-being. Your stories will come!

I'll tell ya' somethin', I have no difficulty in expressing my music and I enjoy clownin' around on the stage for old times sake. I've found that brown rice and lentils get me fired up in pursuing my art. It's not difficult to be creative in that more quiet, more subtle way, in fact, it's gotten easier since I've started down the long mile to recovery, but I still haven't been able to write. However, I've been experimenting a bit, leaning toward the more contracted side, but have not neglected to keep my body in balance. It's just been rather arduous to keep all those old parts of my personality intact, the good parts at least. Macrobiotics truly changes your personality, and I think it's for the better, but every personality is unique, and it is fascinating how one can change just one nuance of what they consume in their meal, and maintain their equilibrium. Up to date, this has been a little difficult for me, but I am learning more every day.
A wise friend told me that many people from America and the west are more deeply compationate then those from the east because they haven't heard of macrobiotics and how to keep themselves in balance. As a consequence, they brake their backs trying to help their fellow man, but do not help themselves. ON the other hand, those in balance lose that hard edge and are able to relax and seak nurvana, but as you said, the drive to work isn't present to the greater extent as it was in the past. I'd like to seak nurvana, but I'd also like to be able to work in it. Anyway, be kind to yourself, and nurture your abilities. If you feel somethings amiss, try to discover the cause and live the way you've wanted to live, but do not forget to be caring in your decition, what ever it may be, as this is your life! Thanks for your post! In warm regards, James Last edited by mindspirit; 08-31-2004 at 08:53 PM. |
