Question too much sleep

What can cause too much sleepeness?

Somedays I canīt hear my alarm clock and i oversleep very frequently...

Being a student that can be quite bad for me because i shouldīnt miss so many classes... i sometimes oversleep when i go to bad very early , sleeping up to 11 hours wich is of course much more sleep than i need, and then i wake up in a bad mood most times i oversleep....

I just canīt help it! I would like to know what could be of help for so much morning laziness.....

Re: too much sleep

I know for me personally, if I indulge into too much yin (sugars, flour, fruit, beer), I am prone to sleep in the next day and wake up in a bad mood. It makes sense , consuming too much yin results in a yin condition of too much sleep and a depressed mood. Again, that is just for me, your condition may be more or less complicated.

Re: too much sleep

Hi Tofumania(c) ;-)
First of all, eating beans, including bean product such as soy, will make you less prone to activity. Also, soy products contain phyto-estrogens and estrogen also helps you sleep better. Also physical activity will help you with waking up on time, it sort of regulates our internal alarm clock. I can't say if your oversleeping is caused by your lifestyle (and this includes your diet) or by a general difficulty with discipline and routine ;-). It's probably a little bit of both. One trick that I learned early on in life (swimtraining at 6 am in the morning) was to put one alarmclock near the door, so that you had to get up to switch the sound off. It sure helps you to get out of bed (and then of course you need the discipline to not go back to a horizontal position).
In peace and light
Li
