vajae_navi 56,

Read "To Regain Weight" in Kristina Turner's The Self-Healing Cookbook: A Macrobiotic Primer for Healing Body, Mind and Moods With Whole Natural Foods http://www.qualitynaturalfoods.com/s...lcookbook.html

You might find that she offers a comprehensive approach to one's increasing their body weight which includes physical self care, mental, emotional and spiritual approaches plus plenty of clean, nontoxic food choices, all within two pages.

Of course, there are less macrobiotic ways of gaining weight (I gained about one hundred pounds in less than ten years without eating refined flour, refined sugar or honey, no beef, lamb, pork, poultry, or dairy foods!) but maybe that's a topic worth discussing offlist.

Thank you, very much.

Re: Macrobiotic detox, rebuilding, and mass gain

Hi Vajae,

Great thread title. Because, macrobiotic is exactly as the title states, if practiced accurately. One starts macrobiotics and should immediately begin the Healing Diet -- strictly organic whole grains and organic vegetables near the middle of the yin/yang scale (root vegetables). Also, eating the recommended food percentages of the Standard Macrobiotic Diet and Whole Balanced Meal. At the same time, a concentrated Ginger Compress routine will recondition the inner organs to renewed functionality. At 50-60-70 percent whole grains per meal, excess unhealthy weight should fall off, replaced with increased energy and stable blood sugar (equalling stable mood and productivity, in other words, Balance). For women, the Ginger Compress should be combined with the Dried Daikon Leaf (or similar green) Hip Bath, or Full Body Bath. This bath of dried greens along with consuming freshly grated Daikon as a condiment at meals, dispells fat and mucous from the body, internal, and female organs.

Successful macros -Detox, Renew, and Rebuild- their bodies. If you see overwieght macros, who've been the same since they started their practice -- this indicates an ineffective practice, not implementing the lifestyle recommendations (including such practices as walking 30 minutes per day on sand or soil, hot towel body scrub morning and evening, Ginger Compress, Daikon Hip Bath, and eating only till 70% full, etc.)

Those who are practicing accurately should naturally, but somewhat rapidly lose excess body weight, descend to a rather thin weight at which point the old toxic body made up of animal foods and fat, chemical additives, prescription drugs, heavy metals, etc. is released, then rebuild body tissue and muscle mass on organic vegetable foods, with the balanced blood values associated with the Macrobiotic Diet (Alkaline rather than Acidic).

Once the natural rebuilding is taking place muscle mass can be produced with weight lifting and concentrated exercise to enhance muscle growth. It would be informative to contact vegetarian body builders for their body building secrets, while still maintaining the vegetarian diet.

Healthier than Steroids!!!
