Question Candida

I have a friend who is gradually making changes to her food choices. She has a bit of a conflict as her nutritionist has told her to keep away from fermented foods because of her candida problem. She has read that miso ,tamari ect are fermented foods so is there any advise for her regarding the candida issue
Thankyou
from Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Yes, your nutritionist is correct. Fermented foods (as well as all sugars except for the herb stevia -- yes, that excludes barley and rice malt syrup, as well as simple sugars). should be avoided when one has candidiasis.

Has your friend explored any herbal supplements to stop the proliferation of candida? There are many resistant strains of this organism (not just candida albicans), which often mutate, making treatment quite difficult.

There are many herbal anti-fungal supplements that will kill the yeast cells, however this can produce a toxic overload in the body which can then trigger a mutation of the organism, thereby increasing the overall strength of the yeast cell organism. Also, these herbal supplements can cause damage to the liver.

There is a product on the market by a very well respected herbalist that actually dissolves the cell wall of the yeast organism, while renewing beneficial intestinal flora, so it doesn't produce this toxic overload. It is a simple cellulase enzyme combined with probiotics that dissolves the cell wall and promotes intestinal balance. I'm just trying this product now, it's called Candex (by pure essence labs).

Your friend might want to consider this approach for this very pesky problem.
