Question Question on Nikken Products, Posted by Gary For Alice

I am posting this message of behalf of Alice, who emailed me with a question on Nikken Products. She would have posted herself but had trouble getting into the forum.

I know that this has always been a bit of a controversial topic in macrobiotics, those that swear by the products, and those that think that it is nothing more than a giant MLM program. Let's see if we can get some educated opinions on the products, both good and bad. I myself really know almost nothing about them myself to offer one.

Here is Alice's question as she wrote it. Hopefully with this account now setup for her, she may be able to respond to her comments herself. Hopefully we will get some interesting ones

Gary

Hi to all:

I am interested to hear if any macrobiotic people have experience with Nikken Products.

I know that electricity and microwave ovens are detrimental to your health. What about magnets?
Nikken Products have mattresses to sleep on and products with magnets to wrap around the body.

They also claim to have a water filter that has spring-like qualities---magnetic, filters and mineralizes.

Arrow Magnets

I think there is a link to Nikken Products under the thread here at Cybermacro, "Kushi Wears Sneakers". I clicked on it the other night, and the products look very attractive. I would buy what interested me, but not get involved in selling for an MLM. I've had enough of that to last forever.

I think the Kushi's and some other macrobiotic people, like Bill Tara, were/are into magnets. I've heard that Aveline was using magnets to help with her condition. I have never tried any magnetic products.

I do have some acupressure insoles that I bought long before I was macrobiotic. They are in a drawer and I have never put them in shoes. But I do like to refer to them as they have a detailed map on foot pressure points related to body organs. The insoles have built-in magnets. I have enough on my plate, just cooking well for my condition and trying to fit in exercise and home remedies. If I had all that down, I'd be happy.
