Exclamation Really sick of it!

HELP ME PULEEZE!!!

Hi,
I haven't posted much lately partly because I've been otherwise occupied. Attempting to block, delete and otherwise get rid of cybermacro_discussion messages with various cutsie names and not so funny messages. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN A LARGER PENIS, SINCE I HAVE NONE. I DON'T WANT ZANAX OR VIAGRA (with all the creative spellings they put to make it difficult to delete from your messages) OR ANYTHING TO INCREASE MY LIBIDO (macrobiotics has done that for me already - hooray!) I DON'T WANT CHEAP MEDICATIONS, or ANY MEDICATIONS (I'm macro and don't take meds or supplements except ume plumb and the few recommended remedies - and only rarely do I need those). I DON'T WANT TO MEET HORNEY WOMEN, OR ANY OF A HOST OF OTHER LUDE INVITATIONS I'VE BEEN GETTING. I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED THAT A MACRO SITE WOULD BE SENDING OUT 5 TO 15 OF THIS TYPE ADDS/DAY. IT MAKES A MOCKERY OF THE MACROBIOTIC WAY OF LIFE!.

I am now going to try to delete my subscription to cybermacro_discussions. I don't know if that will exclude me from being able to post or not. I wouldn't want that to happen. Or maybe I'll change my e-mail address, but that would be a mess since I've had this one for years and have many correspondants. However, I haven't received but two or three ernest messages from cybermacro for the past two years. I know that could be because I'm not posting. But I want to post, but I get so frustrated when I have all these garbage messages every time I go on line and pick up my mail that I have to take most of my computer time deleting the junt. and all of them seem to say cybermacro_discussions on them. Has someone gotten ahold of the Cybermacro mailing list?

I'm asking the group for suggestions.

TIA Stephanie

Re: Really sick of it!

Hi Stephanie,

I am sorry about the situation with the pair list discussion mailing list. As you know the list was setup around the fall of 2001 for Roy's Macrobiotic online course, the list ceased to be used for the course about February of 2002. Still there were many people still signed up to receive any postings made to the list, but no activity occured. I see that this fall there was an explosion of messages posted by spammers to the list, obviously it is a sad situation if for two years the list ran into no problems by spammers then suddenly they are posting to it everyday.

I just contacted the internet provider and within a few hours today, both lists will be shut down, there was also a recipe exhange list. There is no other way to end it. As of 12:35 Eastern Time, both lists have been shut down.

The forum, where I am posting this message from is far more secure from spammers, but that does not mean that occassionally somebody is not going to post a message that could be considered spam. still if you have not looked at the forum in a while, please take a look and you will find that usefull discussions occur here and we would all welcome your participation.

Regards,

Gary

Hi Gary,
Thank you so much for your reply and for your quick action. You said I should read and see that there is much good information on the forums. I agree wholeheartedly. I was traveling last year from June through November, and kind of got out of the habit of posting, but I spent some time on-site yesterday and really enjoyed the posts.
I'm still a little awkward maneuvering, but I like the format and will get used to it and learn my way around.
Again thank you for taking care of the problem. As you always do. I didn't have a single piece of spam mail this morning. You're the greatest!

Stephanie,

Glad the spam problem was resolved so quickly. It seems to me I unsubscribed myself from cybermacro_discussions after receiving the few botox advertisements I mentioned. Sounds like it became much worse with more advertising after than.
