Wink Somethings Fishy?

One other question that I had concerning macrobiotics is that I read how certain types of fish are all right to eat and I was just wondering how sparingly do I consume fish on this particular diet?

How “sparingly” do you consume fish? For some people it’s twice a week and for some it’s more.

In macrobiotics you are allowed to have fish about three trimes a week.

Re: Somethings Fishy?

Jeannine and Felisha,

What kinds of foods you eat more or less of depends on many things including your condition, your constitution, your age and gender, your work, daily activities, and your dream or life goal, among other things.

Though, not as yang as meat, and poultry. fish is more yang than the recommended central foods of whole grains, temperate climate vegetables. bean/legumes, sea vegetables, nut/seeds, fruits and so on.

Check out the current macrobiotic food pyramid:
Great Life Pyramid:Macrobiotic Dietary Guidelines for a Temperate Climate
http://www.worldmacro.org/newsletter...105pyramid.gif

Fish is usually recommended as once a week consumption but under certain conditions may be eaten more often.

If one is really too yin or spends a lot of time in front of a high magnetic radiation (old type) computer screen, then eating more fish might be appropriate.

What's the usual temperature in your igloo?

If you are living in a constant subfreezing environment, then lots of fish and denser, yang foods might be more appropriate.

Young children might eat less yang, and women (or anyone) who wants to attract a slightly yang partner might wish to eat a slightly more yin diet.

Do you ladies use yin and yang daily in making your food choices?

That's primarily what macrobiotics is about.

How did the each of you get involved in macrobiotics and this website?

Thank you, very much.

Bruce Paine

Thank you for replying to my post Jeannine. No, I do not eat fish anymore for ethical reasons ( I am now Vegan). I was just wondering out of curiosity. However, thanks a bunch

I am vegan as well. my Macrobiotic counsellor told me that there is no need for fish in the diet, that it is optional. There are many other sources of those nutrients. Why hook a fish when you son't have to???
