Question rosacea help

Does anyone know why or how rosacea develops and what may help it? I began with rosey cheeks at 19, now at 25 I have a chronically red face that flares with food, emotions, heat, cold, illness, and the list goes on. I have several broken blood vessels on my cheeks and nose and can't get rid of them. Unfortunately the problem is so persistent that I often can't stop thinking about it. Please offer some advice. I am desperate for help.

I also have type 2 diabetes and wonder if anyone has ever been "cured" through macrobiotics and where I should start.

Re: rosacea help

Both, Diabetes and Rosacea can be cured by Macrobiotic. But all dietary recommendations and home remedies depend on your constitution, your condition, you surroundings and so on. So it might be very useful to seek help with an experienced macrobiotic counselor.

Both Diabetes and Rosacea are caused by eating to much sweets and fats.

First of all you should avoid:
sugar, honey and all sweets (except of rice malt or barley malt), all dairy, fruits, eggs, alcohol, meat, vinegar, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, black tea and cofee, all sorts of fat (use only some high quality oil, e.g. sesame oil)

Eat lots of grains (50%) and vegetables(40%), some adzuki-beans, salad, seaweeds, gomasio

Here are two out of print books that should give you some pretty comprehensive macrobiotic information on diabetes 1 and 2, and how to cook for them:

A Natural Approach: Diabetes and Hypoglycemia Health Education Series by Michio Kushi and John David Mann / Japan Publications Trading Co / November, 1985 / ISBN 0870406159 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...325535-4075939 and Cooking for Health: Macrobiotic Food and Cooking Series: Diabetes and Hypoglycemia by Aveline Kushi and Rosalind Rhodes / Japan Publications Trading Co / November, 1989 / ISBN 0870406175 http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cg...652550&ad=1781.

If you are not going to use the above links, see if you can find those books at your local library http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/Libweb/Public_main.html, bookstore http://www.bookweb.org/bookstores/, or anywhere else online http://www.google.com/search?q=search&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 .

Thank you, very much.

Re: rosacea help

Wow. Thanks for the great info. I will try my best, but as you said sweets and fats are my downfall. I'll let you know how I make out.

Re: rosacea help

Hi:

While you're making the transition to macrobiotics, you might want to check out this Chinese herbal cream that has helped my rosacea. It's simply called Rosacea Cream and is available from Herbal Doctor Remedies. I think their address is www.herb-doc.com. Or call them at 800 600 0808. The cream cleared up my rosacea in a couple of months. That, plus a macro diet.

Good luck

Una
