stomach in yang condition

Hallo,
in the past I suffered from panic attacks, and fear. I think I repressed it, so my stomach is often contracted. It's a long time I'm never hungry, and sometimes my throat and upper torso is so contracted that speaking is impossible. Yet I hate cold wheather, cold water, and hate moving my body. I am always weak and feel like doing nothing but sleeping.
I can't say whether it is yang or yin condition. What's your opinion?

thanks in advance
m.

Re: stomach in yang condition

Hi Max,

Fear and depression are yin. Lethargy is yin. A body that always feels cold is yin. How old are you, as this is a very listless state to be in for a young person. When you learn more about macrobiotics, you can balance your condition with foods that will give you more yang energy. Then, your body will have heat and active energy. You will have the confidence and mental clarity to get out in life and do more. Life is for living, not for curling up under blankets, whatever your age.

I would suggest a basic macrobiotic book that details lifestyle, cooking, and exercise, like The Macrobiotic Way, by Michio Kushi. That's a start.

Nancy

Re: stomach in yang condition

I think that too that cold and lethargy is yin, but I am very slim, and with a very constricted stomach and torso, isn't that yang? Maybe extreme (which has yin aspects as well)?

thanks
