ganglion cyst
A ganglion cyst that has developed on my foot! I
noticed it a couple of months ago- only bothered me when leaning on it [on outside of left foot] or if shoe pressed on it. Now sometimes when I walk a lot. So now I am in the researching stage. It's a fluid filled sack from adjacent joint capsule or tendon sheath. Cause is said to be not known. They often form on wrist or fingers too. If surgically removed they often return. They do spontaneously dissappear! I am thinking of ginger compress ...or buckwheat? I do have the great good fortune to be signed up for the Kushi Institude Summer Conference. I'm sure I will ask counselors there if they know what to do for it- Meanwhile, I'd like to know if anyone here has had experience with such a thing. I'll share the info- and results! More to learn! ~Rebecca |

Well I'm no medical expert but I had one on my wrist way before I was macro. It went away on its own, although mother tells me in her day they would have walloped it with a copy of the bible (to break it down and disperse it, I think!)

yes, I have heard them called "bible busters" in the "olen" days! I am more aware of how I walk- perhaps I have been putting extra pressure there. Thanks for the good words about the disappearence of the one on your wrist!

Re: ganglion cyst
I had one on my left wrist and it went away on it's own after about 5 years. After doing some research and reading I found out about being able to burst the sac internally. I have successfully rid myself of this nusance 3 times. first 2 times I slammed it against my desk at home. The third time it was against a brick wall. You really need to massage and cool with ice as much as possible before attempting this. I am no physician but they do go away, either on their own or by force. Cause of this problem is unknown.
