Question Macro food while traveling?

In the comfort of my kitchen with my pots and pans, MB food is abundant. However, when you're traveling for business for a few days, what do you do? Are there any MB snacks/dishes that can be made ahead of time that I can bring with? I'm assuming my hotel room will not have a 'fridge...

Suggestions would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Re: Macro food while traveling?

The only thing I've made in advance for a trip are rice balls -- brown rice w/ umeboshi paste in the center, wrapped in nori. The umeboshi keeps the rice from spoiling, so I've been told you can leave these things on a counter top (in a temperate area) for up to 4 days.

I don't know airport security would react to these though; they sort of resemble tiny cannon balls, which might catch some attention!

I think the Micro-diet.com foods would work, although you do have to boil the packet, I haven't tried them yet (has anyone?)

Re: Macro food while traveling?

This is a great topic and one I was going to bring up myself soon!

I, too, am wondering how to stay MB on the road. I'm a musician and will be going on tour in June and July. Of course, I'm already trying to plan for my food needs. I was thinking about using my camp stove to cook grains & steamed veggies, and thermoses to keep them warm. That's as far as I've gotten.

Any guidance and experience out there?

Warmly,
shazz

Hi,

I don't keep print-outs of everything that I and other people have written here, but since many of the topics that are posted have been covered, I recommend that people who have questions, first use the Cybermacro's Search engine to see what responses to your question that there might already be!

For instance, I typed "Travel Food" in the Cybermacro's Search engine and one of the things I got was this!

You really can learn a lot reading back in the archives, here.

Have a good journey!

Thank you, very much.

Re: Macro food while traveling?

Bruce,

Thanks much for the link and the heads up about searching the archives. I tried it, but my search terms must have been inadequate!

These pointers will be most helpful.

Re: Macro food while traveling?

On trips before I have taken:
-packages of dried nori seaweed
-cans of organic beans
-bags of dried organic wholemeal pasta
-organic wholewheat crackers
-organic dried fruit ,seeds, and nuts (like a MB trail mix)
I can usually find fresh fruits and veggies wherever I go as well.
