Hi,
Recently a friend told me that they are following a macrobiotic lifestyle for their 16-months old baby. He was born with crooked fourth toes (4th toe iis longer andis leaning on the third toe) A macrobiotics consultant explained to them that this indicates that the baby's galbladder is too tight or too loose and this influences his mood, ability to relax, etc. I may be getting some of this wrong, but this is what I know in general. My baby was born with similar toes, so I want to find all possible information about the link between toe shape, galbladder, and personal traits. I also want to learn about macrobiotics and how it can help. As a mother I want the best for my baby, but i do not want to make a hasty decision. Although, from what I've read so far it looks like macrobiotics is good for you regardless toe shape. If anybody has heard about this condition please point me in the right direction. Also, any advice on microbiotics for infants would be appreciated. Thanks

mb child care
there are several books on the subject of mb child care. you can contact the kushi institute in massachusetts and the george ohsawa macrobiotic foundation in california to find out what's available.
insofar as the childrens' toes are concerned, it is said that every internal imbalance will manifest itself in the exterior physical being. thus, excessive energy in the (oriental system of) liver-gall bladder will show up as pimples, moles, skin pigmentation differences, etc on the applicable meridians. this is undoubtedly what your friend's counselor is referring to. in my own case, for instance, my mom, really had a liking for chocolate during my nine months. i have a mole right between the eyebrows to show for it! as a result, i'm not really a chocolate lover myself. so please consider what foods you had a bigger than usual liking for during the time that you were carrying your youngster, and let us know. |

More questions
Mike,
Thanks so much for your reply. I'm learning more new things about mb every day but I'm still kind of in the dark. I had a surprisingly craving-free pregnancy. The only craving to speak of was BBQ potatoe skins. It lasted a couple of days and happened even before I knew I was pregnant. I stayed on a pretty healthy diet most of the time, but I did indulge in salami and cheese. My friend also mentioned that pre-pregnancy diet rich in foods like buckweat (which I ate a lot growing up) could also influence my baby's gall bladder function. I guess what I am really concerned about is not necessarily what caused this condition, but condition itself. What does excessive energy in gallbladder means? Is it bothering or hurting my baby in any way? How does it affect his personality? I guess there may not be sure answers to this questions but does anybody know? Thanks,

what we eat is what we become . . .
anna, mb theory states that the BBQ potato skins become our body cells - this is how we get to be the way we are! salami and
cheese have contributed also. your baby's physiology has a direct relationship with what you, the mother, fed it during its nine months. what you decide to continue to feed it during its infancy and childhood will similarly influence it. mb theory will generally state that you'll be careful about feeding fatty and rich foods to your youngster - as those foods will irritate its liver-gall bladder. you'll know the signs of irritation - lots of aggravated cries! thus, later on, he may want to stay pretty much away from alcohol - and ice cream - for the same reason. gall stones are also a consideration. all in all, this is the right time to get involved with your local mb group to start your studies. |
