Macrobiotic Counselor Miriam Nour, Lebanon

I was led to Macrobiotic way of life by a great Lebanese Lady named "Mariam Nour", and Nour means light in arabic. She used a nice local TV station and gave most of us a ''wake up slap" to lead a better way of life.

I was diagnosed three months ago as being diabetic, type one, and it came out of stress and not by heridity. I went to this Lady and took almost free classes which taught us how to cook better and gave us some nice keys to move and lead new way of life , i.e meditation and natural healing.
Now my diabetic is getting better, and u could say normal , but still my Dr. isn't happy about me using Macrobiotic , but since I am feeling better and better every day I am happy about myself.
If there is a will there is a way ... and frankly I am happy about the change in my body, soul and spirit ... and most importantly peace of mind .
I would gladly give you some new macrobiotic food ideas which I, family and friends are enjoying .

Thanks for your message. I'm happy that you are happy and that macrobiotics is working for you. My good friend, blind painter Vicente Paratore, who will be 71 in a few days also had type 1 diabetes -- 12 years ago and was taking pills to control his sugar and high blood pressure (that made him blind). After 1 year of macro he did not use any pills. His doctor monitors him every three months and is amazed that his blood sugar is always in the normal range. So I think you will do fine.

About Mariam Nour, ND, PhD.: is she still in Beirut at the same number 961 1 33 33 23 for others to contact her? ALso do you know Nada Andrea is still in Lebanon? Also there is Madame Odette Aghajanian who has a center and food store in Beyrouth. These would be good people for the others in Lebanon to contact for more macrobiotic help. Thank you.

Hi Roy
For two weeks now my blood sugar is normal, and I 'll see my Dr. after New Year to see my new results. So far he is not happy of me using Macrobiotic but I bet when he see the results he'll finally agrees with me. I am decreasing my Insulin Intake myself because the old dosages is making my blood sugar too low .

The first thing that gave me hope is that I read in a magazine about a lady who got diabetes and said "when she think of her diabetes she says it only made her sweeter, from the inside out" .

Yes Dr. Mariam Nour is still in Lebanon and we are very proud of her to be among us and she is still with her old phone number... she got a site of her own "www.mariamnour.com" but it is still under construction...
I buy most of my marobiotic food from Madame Odette's Aghajanian store ... both these ladies have changed our life to a better way ..
Now my aim is to open a club of our own ... but so far me and some group of people are gathering in each other's house .

So Ghada, it is good to know that there is some definate macrobiotic activity in Lebanon and that you have access
to macrobiotic food resources and teachers, etc. Are part
of Cesars group as well or are you a different group? I
am positive that your group will turn into a center and will
