Presently there is no known cause or cure except for symtomatic
treatment with corticosteroids, antacids, and topical lubricants.
Because symptoms of Scleroderma directly affect the skin and more YANG organs (lungs, heart, kidneys, and joints) macrobiotic idea is that overly yang diet is making these problems -- animal fat, salt, baked flour products, as well as excess oil, protein. Attraction to sugars and fruits is great when too yang and this
starts degeneration process. Kidney is main organ that is stuck, so is blood vessels to the heart and hands. This makes circulation weak and skin becomes hardened. Food needs to be mailny vegetable quality with little or no sea salt. Mostly steamed greens, seaweeds, aduki beans. Take 1 cup of natural brown rice
per day with main meal. You can put groud up flax seeds or sesame seeds on rice/vegetables.

A little white meat fish a couple of times per week. Keep portions small. No sugary desserts, no soda, no coffee, no tropical foods, no spices, no alcohol, no tobacco, no white flour products. Only freshly cooked real plants. This will make balance. Drink only hot tea, or fresh vegetable juice, mineral water (no gas). No honey, no lemon, no sugar in tea.

Kidneys need to be stimulated by making hot ginger compress directly on kidneys twice daily. Stay active, no TV. Walk, swim,
bike ride, run, yoga, etc. You need to find a source that will help you to learn macrobiotic cooking and need to read more. This will take some time but once kidneys are clean and flexible so will skin, etc.
