Question 4 Months old..

My wife is breasfeeding our 4 months old daughetr, but she uses canned milk in addition to that because she complains that her milk is not enough for the infant. What are we supposed to feed that infant? I mean should we go on with feeding her milk that we purchase from pharmacies?
I have heard that milk is not good for health...but I am confused as what is the substitute?
Do you recommend any food that can make my wife produce more milk?..please help

Assuming your wife is macro: In general if condition is too yin breast milk is not strong enough to engorge breast. If too yang
breast milk has difficulty converting from blood to milk. Too yin is from too much fruit, dessert, liquid, tropical foods, spices, and raw foods, sugars, medications, etc. Too yang is from limited variety of foods, too much salt, too much animal food, too much exercise, baked foodsnot enough green foods, too little food consumed. Body needs good proportions of yin and yang with wide variety when breast feeding.

Feeding on demand stimulates breast to make more milk. Cetain specific foods and teas can be suggested once you let us know more about her diet. For now she can take fenugreek tea or dong quai root tea. No need for can, cow, or formula milk. In worst case scenario you can make grain milk and if that does not work you can mix a little soy or goat milk with it. Please give specifics however, first...

In peace, Roy

Miso soup with mochi is an excellent way to enrich breast milk. Stronger foods should be eaten if your wifes condition is too yin, and I would advise against any canned or homemade product to feed your baby. Breastmilk is the ONLY food safe for your baby. No other food compares.
