Hi Nadia. I would suggest to use up to 1/2 tablespoon of miso to taste. If taste is too salty then use a little less. Only one time daily as soup for your condition.
I have seen and have aided others with psoriasis before and usually results show within a few weeks to a few months. Most forms I have seen are not as severe as yours, however. Ususally the cases I have dealt with issue more from excess sugar in diet and also excess flour products which clog up kidney function. Your condition is directly envrionmentally related from oil field fires and contaminated smoke. It is not common for this to happen and I have not seen this ever. Some day you may want to send me a photo of yourself showing actual damage of skin. You can send this to my home address or if you have a scanner you can scan and send me an attachment to my email address: Collins_6166@msn.com My wife works in a hospital that is operated by US government with doctors who have seen more cases like yours than I have. Maybe they can offer some advice as well. You are correct to say in winter psoriasis and other skin diseases get worse. This is because kidney which governs skin and hearing is most affected by cold, water, and dampness. So it is important to stimulate kidneys by applying hot ginger compress to the back using ginger water and dish towel. Also use slightly less liquid during the day and make sure to do bending type of exercise or self massage (called Do-In). Japanese red beans (Aduki) are also very good for kideny related problems. You can boil red beans and winter squash together with a little sea salt and eat a small portion daily (during cold months). Leave the skin on the squash as this will strengthen your skin as well. You might also want to try adding a few pieces of Astragulus root or Reishi mushroom in your tea pot during cold months to enhance immune function and help combat viruses, etc. A little more fish is also good for you now but when hot weather comes you need to eat less animal protein. I hope this helps. In peace, Roy |

Do you know that all the girls are asking me what kind of cream I am using for my clear skin, thank god from the beginning I didn't have psoriasis in my face. Sorry for disturbing you but I have a question please, I want to know if my sister can use miso soup too, she is pregnant and she has no health problem at all, I want her too to have a nice skin. Hi Nadia. Yes, I am very proud of you and happy to know you are already starting feel results from natural way. Miso soup is one of the best foods for pregnant woman as the ingredients replicate enzymes, and elements from the ancient sea (where life began). However she must not use too much only a small amount like you per day. She can add different ingredients as well, like carrot, squash, mushroom, cabbage, etc. Pregnancy is most important time of life -- try to use good quality, organic foods, and be happy most of all. Of course use wide variety and baby will have broad understanding of life when born. My regards to her. Take care.

Hi Nadia. Thank you for your message. Regarding Christmas festivities: Yes, please eat turkey and anything else you like in moderation. Better to use natural sugar or honey than artificial sweetners in your desserts. Also maple syrup is good. It is just for one or two days right? If you get too fanatical and rigid over food then life is no fun. Please be flexible during important holy days. Turkey and most fowl (birds) are ok on macrobiotic diet on some occassions and especially good to use when winter comes and body needs more heat/fat. However for your condition better to avoid animal food whenever you can.
In peace, Roy |

Hi Roy,
Thanks again for your reply, I was happy to see it. I used Tea Tree Oil and Sweet Almond Oil, I found a good result, psoriasis reduced on my head about 90% but my body is the same, I will keep using it. I will go on with the food system and diet until 24 December 2001 then I will enjoy with Xmas party and 25 December 2001 after that using the diet for about a week then I will enjoy the New year party, then back to diet. I remember my mum when she used to fast before Easter, she was not eating meat and milk, I was feeling sympathy for her but now I am fasting all the time during normal days by using the diet not in fasting time. Please pray for me to get well in Christmas. I am not going to wish you now only when Xmas day comes. Have a nice, good and peace days during then month. Nadia

Hi Nadia. I am glad you found the supplies you need and hope that you continue to progess in your healing journey. All healing takes time, especially nature cures, so do not be disappointed if you do not see good results fast. I am surprised that psoriosis on head was reduced to 90% with one application! I know tea tree is strong and you need only a small amount but this sounds too good to be true! I hope you enjoy your Xmas festivities. You sound quite excited. I will pray for you. I like Xmas time too, especially food and idea to love all people.
In peace, Roy |

Re: what kind of food is the best for psoriasis disease
Dear Roy,
I am from Singapore and had read your reply for the treatment of psorasis to Nadia. No harm trying as I have psorasis on my scalp for 4 years, as all kinds of medication and external application dont help, I simply just use tea tree oil apply on to my scalp and go for a simple macrobiotic diet for a month without any trace of oil. Within a week I notice improvement and within a month the psorasis was totally gone. I have gone back to my normal diet. Two years had past and so far so good. Thank you very much... |

Re: what kind of food is the best for psoriasis disease
Dear Phyllis,
This is what I said in a different part of Cybermacro, recently: "My guess is that Roy is doing fine, in his new career as an artist, and he would probably like hearing from you. If you don't have his e-mail address you can send him an e-mail via Cybermacro http://www.cybermacro.com/forum/sen...ailmember&u=170 and if he's not too busy, I'm sure that he'd be happy to respond." I imagine nothing has changed much since that post, so if you want to communicate with him directly, that's one way you can do it. Thank you, very much. Bruce Paine |

Re: what kind of food is the best for psoriasis disease
Just a quick post. I am new to Macro, but have experience with psoriasis. My father has it over 90% of his body. I've read that dairy products are a big no-no for psoriasis sufferers.

Re: what kind of food is the best for psoriasis disease
I just watched a television show with Dr. Perricone, who advocates borage oil for those with psoriasis. He also indicated that those with psoriasis may have high blood pressure, as these two things go hand-in-hand. Additionally, he said that those with psoriasis evidently don't manufacture a certain enzyme in their body like others do, which is why the borage oil helps.
Anyone have experience with borage oil? |

Re: what kind of food is the best for psoriasis disease
Hello!
Thankyou Roy and all for all the information, i will be incorporating it into my diet in the new year when i get back to following a macrobiotic diet (i have kinda been following one but in a very lax way!) It will be interesting to see how my psoriasis responds! I just did a quick search for borage oil, it seems similar to evening primrose oil (which roy recomended) in that it is very high in gamma-linoleic acid, so maybe it will help in the same way as evening primrose? So i take it Roy is no longer on the board? this is a shame! i will more than likely have many questions when i start getting back on track |

Re: what kind of food is the best for psoriasis disease
Quote:
Have you ever considered "Mindful based stress reduction" to be used in the healing of psoriasis and many other dis-eases? In other words "meditation"! This may sound like quackery to some but to me and many others this is very real. As a meditator of many years I recognize the power of meditation and its superior healing qualities. There is actual scientific proof of this to a very large degree. The people willing to do these studies are small but those that have have come up with incredable results. Just recently I spent three days with Jon Kabat-Zinn upstate NY at Omega Institude For Holistic Learning. He discused psoriasis to some degree using it as just one example as to the power of meditation and mindful living especially under extreme stress related conditions thatsome people live under. This was the first thing I thought of regarding your posts to this woman. She's a perfect example. I'd like you and others to look deeper into this on your own as there are volumes you can read on this very subject. I'd recommend you all read/Google "jon Kabbat-Zinn". Here's one paragraph you may find interesting: "In 1993, Jon Kabat-Zinn’s work in the Stress Reduction Clinic was featured in Bill Moyers' PBS Special, Healing and the Mind and in the book by Moyers of the same title. Kabat-Zinn and his colleagues published a research paper demonstrating in a small clinical trial, a four-fold effect of the mind on the rate of skin clearing in patients with psoriasis undergoing ultraviolet light therapy: [Kabat-Zinn et al, Psychosomatic Medicine 60:625-623 (1998)]. A more recent paper [Davidson, Kabat-Zinn, et al. Psychosomatic Medicine 65: 564-570 (2003)] shows positive changes in brain activity, emotional processing under stress, and immune function in people taking an MBSR course in a corporate work setting in a randomized clinical trial." JKZ and his colleagues are doing research as we speak in MBSR...aka meditation. Its incredably interesting and we spoke and practiced different techniques all weekend. I was in shock (for a lack of better choice of words)at the power of meditation. More than I ever realized. I know whats its done for me over the years. I can speak more about it if anyone wants. It had dramatic results/cure for me during a long ferocious bout with severe alcoholism. As I said, I've practiced meditationfor some quite time religously. BE well! Namaste' andy in N.Y
