Excess copper
I am a macrobiotic vegan. Recently I got my hair analysis report done and found out my copper level was five times more than normal amount. I am showing excess copper symptoms such as anemia, candida and allergy. My food intolerance is very severe that I can only eat brown rice, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, some vegetables and seaweed. No other grains and no beans for me.
I would like to avoid supplementation like lots of zinc, vitamin C, manganese etc. to remove excess copper from my body if possible. I am breastfeeding nine months old baby who was born in the bathtub at home after two hours of labor without midwife and have been giving her best situation possible, so if I can remove excess copper from my body naturally, it will be nice. At the moment, I am thinking about removing copper homeopathically, but if it can be corrected through diet, I would like to give it a try. Thank you. |

Re: Excess copper
Hi!
Cobgratulations on the baby and how she was born - wow. She is lucky to have an aware mother and it is great that you are seeking answers. how long have you been eating macrobiotically? how long have you been vegan? Hair analysis results are interesting. I have played with them a bit myself. they can be very useful but also VERY open to interpretation. I would not make any major changes based on them alone. It also depends on the lab. I once sent two samples taken at the same time to different labs and got very different results. the sample can be contaminated when taken or at the lab - some wahs the hair prior to testing, others dont that aside it is not so much the absolute results that are important but ratios - this is a very complicated psicture to analyse. For example my results on one showed LOW copper. most clinicians would have suggested supplemental copper but because of the ratios of other factors it actually revealed that i had hidden copper excess (common). So the first thing to ask about any result - is where could the excess be coming from? it is all very well to chelate - remove metals but if you are drinking water from copper pipes or some other source then you will take two steps forward and one back all the time. If you are nursing you will also want to be cautious with whatever treatment options you decide on if any. In which way did you determine your intolerances to foods and what you can eat? often when unwell we become more and more sensitive to many foods and it is not actually allergy or intolerance but a weakened digestive system that is the cause. Some type of functional digestive imbalance that is not allowing you to digest and absorb nutrients. If the results were from a test and not your experience you may want to cautiously experiment with as many foods as possible. We are not meant to be narrowing our diets esp if you are nursing and taking care of a child. Eat as widely as your condition permits. It is really important - a well nourished system is also better able to eliminate toxins - it takes energy to do that. Take it slow and experiement safely if you are able to do so or consult a macrobiotic or vegan health specialist. I would address upgrading your digestive function. I have had good success with OMX - a super probiotic formula - it is to be found on this website and can really make a difference in digestion and general health. For nutrient support and safe chelation you could try some super green foods. Spirulina is especially nourishing and enriching to breast milk. It is a micro algae - like a super seavegetable - you only need very small amounts. Another good thing is NCD Zeolite - one of the most advanced and safe ways to detoxiy metals from the body safely. It is made from a micronized mineral formed when volcanic matter hit seawater. Its molecular structure acts like a little cage scavenging around the body and gobbling up and removing heavy metals and other toxins. It is available through this website Homeopathic treatment is another option - but would need an expert. Mora treatment which encompasses homeopathy can also be helpful - by feeding the inverse frequency of the element you want to remove energetically into the body. you dont need to take a lot of zinc to address the imbalance and since many people do have low zinc a conservative supplement for a short time could be a good idea. It is a very important thing to keep an eye on your vitamin B12 levels as a vegan (and even for non vegans) most issues with B12 are actually absorption related so can affect non vegans as well. Fermented foods like home made sauerkraut and pickles, miso, tempeh, natto, unpasturised amasake etc are great sources. Deficiency can have disasterous effects on the nervous system. Vitamin D levels are also important to monitor and ensure an adeuqae regular moderate exposure to sunlight to synthesize this hormone like vitamin naturally. It sounds like you are on the right track and have a great understanding of your body and its needs and those of your baby. Please keep us posted. Re: Excess copper
Also, I hear that the detox foot patches (the best come from Japan) are supposed to be excellent for removing excess copper. One writer (Helke Ferrie?) strongly advised taking B-vitamin & mineral supplementation at the same time, as she claims that some good nutrients are extracted at the same time. However, many people are greatly improved without supplementation.
I have tried 5 or 6 brands. I know that Multi Level Marketing is looked down on as being an expensive way to purchase anything - but the best, hands down, is Kinotakara Brand sold by MLM. For what this is worth. There must be 100 brands out there, so give 'em all a try! |
