eating mainly soups and fish.. is it ok?

Hi you all I'm new here, first post! I'm 22yo male from greece.

I've on macrobiotics for about 5 months now in order to combat depression and what i suspect to be some mild form of scizophrenia. I've been trying many different combinations to see what works best for me and now decided to go as much yang as i can, taking off almost all yin foods. But that makes for a not very tasty diet. Especially after the rice has cooled it is almost impossible to eat.
Today I tried making a soup with brown rice, lentils(i know it's yin but hey i'm trying) carrots, seasalt and turnips. It was awesome, it tasted great, i have more energy than ever, it was easy to digest and it didn't need much chewing which i find to be a dread bore...
So now i'm thinking something in the lines of:

Soups with rice, few beans, root vegetables and maybe soysauce, and miso
Fish almost daily (since it's yang, has b12 and i'm worrying about deficiencies because i used to eat dairys, meat and sugar daily)

what do you think about that diet? does anything seem to be missing? i'm thinking maybe i'm missing alkaline forming foods what do you think? and is it ok if i eat a lot of soups instead of pressure cooked rice or anything? will boiling be destroying too many nutritients, fibres etc?

If you have trouble eating plain brown rice, make up some Gomashio and sprinkle it liberally on the rice. Gomashio is yang also. make sure you roast both the seeds and the salt before crushing them together, as that will yangize them further and release the oil from the sesame to coat the salt.
use this condiment on other foods as well, it is tasty.
Fish every day may be excessive eventually, and you would need to swing yourself back into balance by cutting back and increasing grains and veggies.
I believe you are on the right track by yangizing, but be conscious that the way to health is through balance and harmony. If you have been eating meat and dairy, especially meat, you should eat lots of veggies, especially sea and green leafy and roots to put minerals back in your body that meat depletes.
experiment with alternative ways of incorporating unprocessed whole grains into your diet, such as veggie/grain/bean pies with a flavorful sauce or casseroles. be careful not to use too much oil because it is very yin.
Good luck, keep trying.

I'm fairly new to macrobiotics too and I don't follow the standard macrobiotic entirely, just yet. When starting out, I was having a hard time with the amount of rice as well. I put a partial serving of the brown rice in with a little miso soup. This took the blandness of the rice away. Eventually, I was able to eat them separately and branch out into other things.

The other mistake I made was not eating enough dark leafy greens. I like them, I just wasn't used to cooking with them and would not make the best choices when making my meals. After a blood test showing slight anemia, I went and talked to a nutritionist regarding which vegies and beans I could use to bolster the iron and proteins. I am now able to choose the combinations of foods that provide balanced support for my body.
