About 2 years ago, my right eye and left eye started to make cracking noises all the sudden while i was smoking marijuana and I thought "wow , i didnt know eyes could make this noise." Later on that day, I looked in the mirror and noticed my right eye got lifted upward and got bigger than my left eye.. And my left eye looked like it kinda got pulled down and smaller.. Im not really sure what happened but i feel very imbalanced and out of touch with myself... My life is totally gone.. I cant act or feel like myself anymore , i dunno why.. Since then Ive seen 4 opthamologists, 1 neuro-opthamologist with 2 mri's done, and all the doctors said they cant find anything wrong... Ive also quit marijuana 1 year ago, and noticed some improvement but i can still make my eyes crack if i tilt my head or turn my head.. I have a feeling this happened because I was smoking marijuana and thinking very very hard about something and i remember it very clearly..This has really destroyed my life and nobody is able to help.. any advice or path would be greatly appreciated.. P.S. Is this sanpaku eyes?.. Thank you ..

Re: Very Unusual Symptom (please need help, Im suffering)
Well smoking marijuana is very very Yin. How familiar are you with macrobiotics? You may be out of balance with yourself because you don't have enough Yang in your diet. What is your diet exactly by the way?
There are a lot of factors involved here. Your problem is not exactly Sanpaku but your eye has expanded, indicating excess Yin. By a practitioner I would suggest someone very knowledgable in Macrobiotics or a Naturopath. I can't reccomend anyone off hand. I'm sure people around here know who's the best. Don't give up trying to solve this. Good luck. |

Re: Very Unusual Symptom (please need help, Im suffering)
i understand yin and yang somewhat.. my right eye got expanded and lifted which i think is a yin condition, but why did my left eye get pulled down and got smaller which is a yang condition.. could it have a imbalance of both.. this is why it boggles my mind literally..am i suppose to eat yang or yin or balance?? i mostly try to eat veggies, oatmeal, brown rice, avoid red meat, avoid sugar, avoid salt , avoid milk..also i eat chicken.. sometimes i cheat but im pretty good with sticking with this diet.. i need help.. thanks

Re: Very Unusual Symptom (please need help, Im suffering)
First you can diagnose your face here:
http://www.alchemycalpages.com/diagnosis.html and determine what type of problem you might have. How long have you been eating macrobitically? Did you eat yin or yang mainly before? According to TCM "The liver nourishes the eyes. The kidneys give the power of sight. Dry itchy eyes, are usually liver blood deficiency. If there is redness it means liver heat." They also know of some relationship between the right & left eye but I don't know what it is. Maybe this will help. |

Re: A solution in sight?
From your description I reccomend seeing (no pun intended) an experienced chinese medicine practitioner. they have specialised treatments for all sorts of supposedly difficult cases by western standards. I am sure you will find some relief with that approach especially since you are also addressing diet and lifestyle through macrobiotics. In chinese medicne there are highly specialised study and description of things like eye disorders etc with treatments that can address it.
from another perspective have you tried taking and also applying MSM? it is a sulfur nutritional product that could be very useful - lots of info online. There are also MSM eye drops available. very inexpensive and effective - a good brand in the USA is Rich Distributing. another thing that could be useful is hyaloronic acid the only brand recommended is Sythovial 7 because of its structure and effectiveness. It is a crucial component of joints and also the vitreous humour in the eye - it is hudrating and lubricating. you just take a few drops internally in water once a day. I would also reccomend a high quality aloe vera juice. It is used traditionally for liver and eye related issues - take a small amount internally once or twice a day if it resonates with you. also consume plenty of leafy green vegetables and you could try spirulina which tonifies the yin (fluid dynamics and blood) of the liver which will have a beneficial effect on eye health and hydration. drink suffiencient good quality water you could take a good quality milk thistle (st mary's thistle) supplement with at least 100-150mg - preferably more of the active ingredient silybin to help the liver to detoxify past chemicals. check out other nutrients needed for eye health. your previous lifestyle may have depleted your reserves of thses and although your current healthy diet will address this it may be falling short in some areas or may be taking a long time. some nutrients needed for eye health especially are vitamin a - cod or preferably halibut liver oil is a good source, omega three fatty acids from fresh flax or fish oils, zinc, magnesium, selenium. I am sure you could find more info online as well on this. here are some traditional macro eye remedies which may also help. Explore these options and see if you can find relief and let us know! MACROBIOTIC EYE REMEDIES INTERNAL: 1. RAW SOFT RICE Use short grain, organic brown rice. Use 1 cup of rice. Soak it in spring water until it becomes soft. Use 2 parts water to 1 part rice. If necessary you may add more water. When the rice becomes slightly soft, drain off the water. Place the slightly soft rice into a suribachi and crush. When well crushed add a little water, kneed, then pound. Eat this uncooked rice every day for 4 to 5 days. 2.RAW SESAME SEEDS Each day for 15 days eat 5 to 10 grams of raw sesame seeds. These must be well chewed. 3.FRIED MISO Fry 100 grams of barley miso in a large tablespoon of sesame oil. Add some finely chopped scallion and some grated orange peel. Eat 1 tablespoon of this mixture with rice or vegetables. Usually until miso mixture is gone then please advise. 4.SESAME SEED TEA Lightly crush some sesame seeds in a suribachi. Yellow or black seeds can be used. Add 1 cup of water to 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds. Bring to a boil and boil for 10 to 20 minutes. Doses; drink 2 to3 cups of this tea per day. Do not strain for drinking. EXTERNAL REMEDIES 1.SALTED BANCHA EYE WASH Boil 2 tablespoons of bancha tea leaves with 4 cups of water for 10 minutes. Add 1% sea salt (1 level teaspoon) to 4 cups of water. The taste should be a bit less salty than sea water. Use this solution as an eye wash or bath. As an eye wash can be used up to three times a day. Use remedies for for15 days. Then re-evaluate
