help me get on track-precancerous cells

Hello I recently got an abnormal pap smear, with possible abnormal cells and the presence of HPV. They told me almost everyone has this virus my age. Also there are alot of strains, two of which cause cancer and another warts. I asked If they can test to see which strain it is but apparently most don't do this test. I recently got a copper IUD taken out and have two weeks before they do a colposcopy- where they wash my insides with aecetal alcohol to look with a microscope to see abnormalities. If they see abnormalities they will biopsy. Then they will possibly have to freeze and scrape all those cells off.
I am not on a strict macro diet as I am a little blood deficient and thin. What should I definatley eliminate, include ect to get back on track? I can not find daikon leaves! Can I order them? Anyone have extra? Shall I do an arame sea salt hip bath? I am an aggressive healer and do not want a biopsy. I feel that a biopsy/ loop would be eliminating my symptoms only to be covered by scars. Please help me help myself! Thanks, Lysia

Talking Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

I hope you find this helpful...First, I also was recently diagnosed with HPV, was told the same thing, and I didn't get the sense that this was a state of having pre-cancerous cells, though it is something we can help to control with macro-goodness. I have been myself dabbling with macrobiotics for about 6 months, and for the last month have been serious in order to heal my HPV and my irregular periods (my gyno gave me the pill without even blinking!).

Here's what I am doing, dabble and see what works for you:
1) get "Natural Healing" remedies book by kuchi, reading especially on healing diet #3 that balances too much yin and yang, bringing you back to center (along with your ovaries) you can find it through this site

2) look into do-in, or self-shiatsu. there are some good websites out there. It preaches that reproductive organ problems are connected to stagnation in the liver qi or energy. A balanced diet with massages for the femoral artery are helpful here's a femoral artery link: http://gensurg.co.uk/ic%20-%20artery%20anatomy.htm . I massage it by laying down, pressing my pointer and middle finger for 30 seconds, feeling the pulse, then releasing. I do it 3 times in a row, twice a day. You know it works when you feel a tingle towards your toes when you release the hold.

3) I recently tracked down daikon leaves (not easy, i agree!) what I did was call my local healthstore, and plague the produce guys about their next shipment of daikon as they usually chop off the leaves and leave them in the back. I got them for free. Otherwise, check the links through this site and you can buy dried ones.

Alternatively, i've been taking hip baths with sea salts 3 times a week before bed (you should lie down soon after the bath). And know that you can use turnip leaves like the daikon leaves or arame if you want.

Let me know if this helps, or if you have any other questions, there's tons i could share but don't want to burden you here!!! Best of luck!

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

Thankyou so much! I am too way more serious about healing being scared by this deal. I have a family so being strict is not easy. But it will be good for all of us as the cold season comes.
So do you use ginger bathes or compresses? Or taro? I feel the liver stagnation is right on, as I am faint alot. I also crave protein and fat. We eat organic but I am trying do limit even more any dairy. No coffee, sugar-which is hard to avioid, vey limited spelt and other flours. Greens, miso, little fish, whole grains, cooked fruit only a little, ect...
What other info or angles do you have? I read about points to massage in Woman Heal Thyself- ankles, inside legs-spleen kidney. Thanks for your info I will look these things up and start massaging and do an arame bath tonight! I also am taking pau de arco tea, extra c, slippery elm, zinc, multi, evening primrose, coq10, and calcium. I alternate between feeling very agitated to feeling weak and down. I am trying to do yoga several times a day in snatches. I also will do moxa on some points, go to accupuncture and chiropractor. Thanks again and please do burden me. So at this pt. HPV is a virus I can get through and move on but may take awhile. What do you know? Lysia

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

i fully understand the not being able to buy a book now. here's the guidelines of diet #3. (Comes from idea that all body problems are fixed through 1 of three diets: #1 for too yin conditions, #2 for too yang, and #3 for too much of both). The liver calls out for help through all sorts of body parts: eyes, skin on chin and upper chest, and ovary/uteran areas. Also if you have cold feet, this could be related. Ok, back to diet #3: for about 3 months straight try to stay as close to this as you can:
No: meat, dairy, shellfish, wheat, buckwheat (both very yang, binding grains), oats (mucous causing, this only for 1 month stay away). Focus on medium grains like brown rice of course, millet, barley, amaranth. sometimes mixing with legumes as you want. Eat more 50 to 60% grains, and your veggies should be medium (by medium i mean not too yin or yang) like the round types: cabbage, onions, winter squashes. occasionally the upward greens and downward roots....I'm a HUGE fan of adzuki beans with pumpkin and sweet brown rice. very common recipe, but i can give it to you if you'd like!!! Your cooking should be medium: pan roasting, braising, boiling, with minimal oil (i use spray oil or water), minimal fats, avoid nuts and seeds/nut butters.
Basically keep to the middle of things as much as possible. Not too salty or sweet, not too spicy, no icy drinks. Soup each day, maybe twice. They key is avoiding wheat for the full 3 months and oats for the first (binding foods like wheat along with baked products which you should fully avoid go straight to our uteruses!!!, furthering stagnation).

I have been doing ginger compresses and then using the leftover water for ginger body scrubs (i hope you're doing these too!) and of course my femoral massages, but until my daikon leaves dry, i've been doing sea salt baths like 3 times a week right before bed...remember to lay down immediately after for at least an hour!

As far as extracts are concerned, i'm personally not on any, but i've been considering Vitex which is also called Chasteberry. Completely natural and very available in Vitamin Shoppe and even www.mothernature.com. It helps to naturally regulate hormones without taxing or confusing our regular rhythms.

The diet sounds extreme, maybe hard to do with a family, but it feels fantastic!!! A new fav dessert of mine is pan roasted pears and/ or apples with sweet brown rice, rice milk and a little barley malt and cinnamon. This satisfies my sugar craves, as yes, you should fully and completely avoid all "sugar" barring occasional brown rice syrup and barley malt. Try pan roasting fruit with a little salt like you used to do potatoes from days of old...amazing!

I hope this is helpful...oh! and consider checking your beauty products for parabens (methylparaben, propylparabens). they mimic estrogen in our systems and are in a lot of natural products too (deoderants, lotion, shampoos, conditioners, etc). I have switched to Jason (alson on mothernature.com) which is inexpensive, though dr. bronners is also good. Both vitex and paraben free living takes about 3 months to show results, but it's worth it to know! Phew, what a long entry, let me know if there's anything else i can do! :-)

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

Thankyou so much. I know this seems extreme but for a little while I am doing a parasite cleanse with wormwood, black walnut, pau de arco, slippery elm, grapefruit seed extract. Thanks for your diet info. I am very excited. So I am asuming no flour products like corn, spelt ect. I always ate buckwheat and short grain rice because I am rather yin. As it gets cooler do you gently lean to the yang? I will do some feminine herbal support after I cleanse a bit. So as far as the hpv, what sort of process did you go through? I have an apt next week, I am feeling strongly of delaying to heal. They say it is not a rapid outbreak for most people. I know this is my decision, but have heard horror stories of the pain of aecetyl wash to look closer, pain of biopsy, and worse burning and freezing. They say most people just get over it but then I hear of many women getting things burned off and frozen off. I know I can be good and heal, do you feel abnorbalities should be removed. Do you feel the womans body has the ability under healthful conditions to shed what is not healthful? Thanks and I think easing up on fats dairy and protein will help my liver and faintness. Also I do have clogged skin on my chin, and little bumps on my outer hips. Thanks again, Lysia

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

Hello I am feeling charged up. I did a ginger compress, and scrubbed up with the brew and that felt amazing. I had miso soup for breakfast, and greens withdaikon with dinner. I am excited for some beans. I am continuing with the herbs also but I feel it is a bit rough on the kidneys as I pee alot, well I am drinking more too. Maybe for now I could take in just a little more salt. My big question is if I have lesions on the cervex can my body get rid of them? Do outbreaks just break out or do they spread up inside? I feel I should sit in chairs less and squat more. I am positive about healing. Were along the femoral vein do you massage the whole thing or certain points? Thanks, Lysia

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

lysia:

sorry it's taken me a bit to get back to you. No, i don't believe that lesions on your cervix can spread throughout your body, but of course i am no doctor. My understanding is it's a very localized imbalance. And yes, i believe that your body can heal from anything! I'm presently getting my ex-atkins father to heal from prostate cancer with macro principles and so far so good!!! We can do this!

The femoral massage goes like this: lie flat or slightly reclined with legs flat and straight, feet about shoulders apart, loose clothing or none as i do! with pointer and middle fingers together, gently but firmly press along the seam that runs along between your groin and your thigh, pressing about 2/3 down that imaginary line, (more towards your vagina than your hip). Press for about 30-35 seconds, hopefully feeling a throb of your heartbeat at that spot, then release. you know it worked when you can feel the blood rush towards your toes along the inside of your legs (the artery runs along that line, this is a major portion of the liver qi line that runs from eyeballs to big toes!) Do this 3 times as a session with 2 sessions a day. I find it works best right after yoga or a salt bath before bedtime, when the blood is already flowing.

I hope that in addition to not too much salt or sweet you're also physically active, non-impact sweating (in all the ways it can come ;-) is good for keeping our blocked systems moving. I've been a life-long runner that's moved into ashtanga and i actually have my first bikram sweat session tomorrow...hope this helps and finds you well!

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

Thanks for your reply. I have not been as active latley, I do try to do yoga and walk each day. I rarely sweat. I have had miso and a little tekka and tamari. I feel alot better. I had my first preiod of one day with no pain! The diet is challenging but I like the no flour product part especially. Also I do not have the whites like before. My man says I smell different more like veggies. I still have bumps on my cervex. I hope it clears up soon! I know one thing I want to stay with the more centered diet for a while. But then want to see a counciler to see if I can have more yang- it is sooo cold in the mountains. I have a little fish once a week to keep up my strength. I am super thin yin yin yin. And I like beans. do you eat salt pickles or are they out? I have never made them, but crave the good fermented stuff for my digestion. I try chewing more and have miso, tempeh, and once some amasake. I made these herbal bolises for my yoni and just recieved some daikon leaves in the mail.. Do you limit the time on the ginger as to not accelerate abnormal cells? How do you feel about your brown rice fast? Did you let the drs biopsy or do the colposcopy? Sorry if I am too personal. Thanks tell me how your sweat went! Lysia

Talking Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

lysia: yes, i do eat beans...i'm a huge bean fan: garbanzo, black, lentils of all colors..yum! and I do take fermented foods, a little bit as a condiment usually with dinner: saurkraut, daikon, burdock root, and of course that wonderful ume plum ( i looooove ume, but try to stay good, it's very strong). I too am attracted to the fermented foods, they feel really good when i eat them, and from my reading go fine with the #3 diet, with control of course. Remember to go "round" with your veggies: cabbage, pumpkin, onion, other squashes. And yes, i agree, this diet is challenging as you put it. I have been on it about a month now, which makes me about 1/3 through starting to see results according to the book, and i have to admit, i got sick of myself and had some organic yeast free wheat bread thinking i'd turn off my "good macro" for a moment and eat whatever i wanted! But I only had one piece and felt it constricting literally in my ovaries and immediately stopped...it's tough, but this diet works and is worth it, i haven't been "bad" since.

My sweat session of bikram yoga went really well. That 100 degree room is hot hot hot. Just sitting there you already break a sweat. I suggest trying to break a sweat each day if you can, or as close to it as you can come, sweating helps to push out imbalances and keep blood flowing to from and through the yoni (funny you should use that word, i thought my old roommate invented it...i laughed out loud!)

I don't do ginger every day, in fact lately i've been really busy and haven't done it at all. My rice fast was wonderful, but also challenging as most wonderful things tend to be. I have never slept so well in my life, and it helped to tune my sensors of "woah...too yin/ too yang, must find balance" which i now use each day.

And no no no you're not being too personal, i don't embarrase easily, and if i can help that's even better! Funny that your guy says you smell more like veggies, you should tell him to eat along with you so you can test how his smell changes! :-)

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

Hello, thanks so much. I guess I am on the 19th day. After one week I too had flour products at a potluck, and had emotional freak out the next day. I have had some nuts which are not included in the diet heh? I will lay off of them. How do you cook your cabbage? I had barley with apple and whole sweet potato as a treat very yummy- stew fried in water with cinnimon and a little rice syrup. Funny I am only craving meat and yang. I feel cold with the weather. I usually want fruit and sweets and fat of dairy. I am sad today guess cause i havent had my miso. My family is pretty resistant to the change. Luckily they like some of the foods anyway, my boy is on a low sugar diet- except today is halloween... My man thinks he is healthy already. My two year old loves miso! My man thinks a yoni sounds like a noodle. He would rather call it a love muffin. Anyway do you feel sex is healing in this condition? Isnt sperm alkaline? I abstain untill 3 days after I ovulate since condoms and cap have failed us. Thanks for your input- somehow I will try to sweat, daikon.... Lysia Ps what fermented foods do you have?

Cool Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

lysia: wow, i will trade your sweet potato/barley/apple recipe for a few of my own...that sounds fantastic! I cook my cabbage very simply: in my pressure cooker (worth the expense, trust me. i use it every day) i slice it thickly with a few whole cloves of garlic and some other veggies of similar cook times: squash chunks, onions, string beans and with a dash of sea salt. When it's done, i toss it in a pan to brown, at the end adding some ume plum vinegar, lemon juice and black pepper. It tastes amazing and takes literally 15 minutes from chop to chomp...(hey that was kinda rhymy!)

Funny you should mention wanting only meat and yang, I too also usually crave chocolate and my weight in preserves (my first few months on macro were brutal, sometimes i caught myself eating jam straight from the jar with a spoon!) Since on diet #3 I too have only craved salt and my fav: fried agedashi tofu which is as yang as tofu gets. Odd, but i figure it's all progress as long as you're trying, and to err on the side of yang is a bit safer in macro, it's easier to tell the warning signs: headache, swelling, moodiness, thirst. But we should still be careful of course....

My new fav fermented foods are condiments like organic kim chee and garden kim chee (it has lots of veggies, not just cabbage like regular kim chee). These foods have a bit of red pepper which isn't very macro, but it's not overwhelming, and the natural cultures are wonderful! Also i'm a huge fan of tempeh, trying to bend myself towards natto, and of course miso is technically a fermented treat.

And yes, sperm is very alkaline, but it is in perfect balance with our own yin yonis, so there's no worry there. And sex is very balancing for any condition, it helps to balance emotions, horomones, stress and lymph flow.

oh...and yes, no nuts or nut butters. and as little oil as you can ( i cook with a little water or the spray oils) foods heavy in oil/fat/protein. the closest i get is sesame seeds but no pumpkin. Happy Halloween!!!

Re: help me get on track-precancerous cells

sorry, meant to complete the thought that foods heavy in oil/fat/protein are very yang, very binding and tend to go well with salt, and we're trying to stick to the middle!
