Cool

Please do not upset your religious tradition and feasting
too much by bringing macro into the picture. I have seen
families get very upset when the introduction of something
unfamilar is brought to the holy day table. It is far better
to be happy and enjoy your relatives and friends by eating
the traditional feast foods. This goes for Thanksgiving,
Christmas, and all other traditional feast or fasting days.

I can understand if someone has a serious illness and cannot
partake in the festive event, but this should be the exception.
My wife is Jewish and the jar version of Gelefilte fish is what
she is attracted to and makes her heart swell with joy (from
past memories.) If your constitution is sound it is important
to be flexible with food, especially on special days. That
is up to you, however.

In any event there are quite a number of vegetarian and
kosher cookbooks that can be purchased that have alternate
recipes for the foods you are used to. If need be you can
check these out but I do recommend it. Macobiotic
means "big life" not "narrow life" Please enjoy life, family,
tradtions. The high holy days are my favorites because I
get to eat stuff I normally don't eat. What fun this old
Taoist has taken advantage of the moment...

In peace, Roy
