thanksgiving recipes

Like many of us macros out there, thanksgiving is a time to sit around a table with tons of family, giving thanks for a shmorgasbord of processed sugars and animal products, and that's not even talking dessert yet! This year is my first macro-Thanksgiving, and i need some non-macro friendly recipes to whip up in my mom's kitchen so i can share my good foods with them and also have a few more options when it comes time to plate up for once!!!! I don't expect them to go as far as natto or daikon pickles, but any simple and nutritious staple recipe ideas would be awesomely appreciated, tnx!!!

Cool Re: thanksgiving recipes

Well, for starters, chipchewmunk, you might get a copy of this month's Macrobiotics Today http://www.simply-natural.biz/mbt-nov-dec-2005.php and read Christina Pirello's My Thanksgiving Dinner Without the Bird.

Also check out Chapter 9 Celebrating in Kristina Turner's The Self-Healing Cookbook: A Macrobiotic Primer for Healing Body, Mind and Moods With Whole Natural Foods http://www.simply-natural.biz/Self-Healing-Cookbook.php to give you further ideas for cooking to celebrate, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays.

Be well.

Re: thanksgiving recipes

Hello friend, The other night I made a healthy stuffing. Brown rice, with soaked chestnus and the water, frozen organic cherries, with salt pepper and sage, rosemary ect. My family was mmming alot!
Pumpkin pie with tofu and rice syrup, or sweet potatoes baked until carmelizing chopped with crannberries and cinnimon.
I just got some fresh figs to make a tart or pressed rice crust for a bar kind of deal with some lemony rice syrup glaze.
veggie agar aspic would be fancy spiced up a bit, or with ground fresh chestnuts. I will think of more, see ya Lysia
