Hi, I have been quasi macro since 1995 and am happy to finally get on the site. (I was having problems with passwords, etc, several years ago, so I put CBM.com on the back burner.) But now, so far, things seem stable and I can say howdy....
I am 46 and live in Seattle. I went strict in '95 and loved the results, until such time as I couln't produce any more saliva. I just couldn't eat it anymore...my tastebuds said "enough"! I was so sad I couldn't produce anymore saliva, I knew I wasn't predigesting it adequately. Plus I was so lonely cooking in my kitchen alone and eshewing restaurants and my friends. I have always embraced the science, however. I am a vegan, though I don't discriminate against baked goods co-workers bring. There is always a steady supply of br rice, miso, seaweed, and veggies around at home ..I just suppliment with things un-mac that will wake up my salavary glands. I know I need to take classes, but I can no more afford 2 weeks in camp any more than 2 weeks at the Waldorf Astoria. So cook books are my only source and half of mine were kid-napped to Vegas and I am still working on getting them back. I am on the eve of doing some cleanses and wonder about preparing my 'gut' for them. But I will post my questions in the other forum. I look forward to getting to know you all and broadening my knowedge-base. Ciao and toodles! Teri |

Re: New to cybermacro!
Hi Teri,
To supplement your cookbooks, you may also like to take a look at a new macrobiotic cooking DVD that has recently come out. http://www.simply-natural.biz/Macrobiotic-Cooking-Class-DVD.php Besides the preparation of a complete macrobiotic meal, the DVD covers a great deal of theory about macrobiotics in a very comprehendable way. A very nice booklet accompanies the DVD which includes all the recipes plus helpful charts and diagrams to reinforce the topics covered. |

Re: New to cybermacro!
Hi all,
One thing I noticed about the Simply Natural website which I also just discovered yesterday is that there is a $15 minimum order. Of course what I am interested in is the "#7 diet" book, by Francois Riviere which goes for $14 and change, and it doesn't let you check out. So if anyone knows where else I can get the book please let me know. I haven't been able to locate it anywhere else online... Thanks, D Last edited by garymill; 09-16-2005 at 01:57 PM. |
