Kristy is on a distinguished road
I have an ED- Will Macro living help?

Hi everyone, my name is Kristy and I am 25 yrs.old. I have always eaten pretty healthy (in my uneducaded opinion) but developed an eating disorder 2 yrs back that started with anorexia and then proceeded to bulimia and binge eating. I am just starting the process of trying to get better (it is an awful cycle to try to get out of- you think your fat, you get depressed, you binge, purge but still gain weight so you do it again..) I don't really want to get into it but I am really interested in the Marcobiotic lifestyle and the healing aspects of it (for my head and my body, especially my stomach and bowels) I just don't know where to start. Can anybody recomend a good easy to understand book or at least a meal plan or a shopping list? I live alone and don't have a lot of time everyday to prepare large meals either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You so much in advance!!
*kristy

Re: I have an ED- Will Macro living help?

Hi,
I have gone through and am going through an eating disorder similar to yours. I have recently found out about macrobiotic and really want to use it to become healthy. I am using Overcoming Binge Eating by Dr. Christopher G. Fairburn and The Macrobiotic Way; The Complete Macrobiotic Diet and Exercise Book by Michio Kushi. They are both really interesting and informative books. It is really comforting to know that someone else is going through what I am and interested in getting better through macrobiotics. I hope these books help you and that you get better.

p.s.. you can get these books used and inexpensive at Amazon.com
