New to cybermacro

Hello all,

I am glad to find a somewhat active macrobiotic forum. I've been reading over old posts the last day or two.

I've been doing macrobiotics on and off for about 15 years. I was vegetarian for 11 years and then tipped the scales to Nourishing Traditions. It's all about balance, right?

I find myself coming back to macrobiotics again and again, but honestly, do a blend of NT and macro. On the surface that seems almost diametrically opposed, but it works for me.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hey I for one believe there may have been dragons. I am told of some of the early dynosaurs that exhaled methane. Imagine that catching on fire.

Can you please explain "Nourishing Traditions" to me. I am not familiar with that term?

Nice to meet you.

I am convinced that Macrobiotics is the best diet on the planet, if followed fairly accurately. Of course, it varies with each individual. I think Ohsowa was a bit too regimented, but Kushi and Alex Jack are easy to follow.

"Nourishing Traditions" is just another meat based diet. Atkins wrote a review praising the book. that alone would make me suspicious. Any diet that does not emphasize whole plant foods will lead to heart disease, strokes, etc., in my opinion.

Did any of you read "The China Study"? It verifies much of Macrobiotics; teh more plant food and less animal food, teh better. Goal: zero animal food.
