the passing of a Macrobiotic great

I regret to inform the macrobiotic community of the passing of Elaine Nussbaum....macrobiotic teacher, couselor, inspiration.
Elaine defeated cancer almost 25 years ago. Her story is "recovery from Cancer".
great book for beginners. She was my Aunt

It's a pleasure to "meet" you!
I just returned from a weeklong stay at The Kushi Institute, and all of the instructors/counselors there spoke very highly of your Aunt and were deeply saddened by her passing. She was very much beloved in the Macro community and will be sorely missed.

Your loss is also a loss to so many!

Re: the passing of a Macrobiotic great

Cybertova, so very sorry to hear of her passing I only learned of her last week myself. The fact she took the time to create a book (a way of sharing in the passion of her recovery) to tell what she has been through will inspire others on to persevere.

Thank you for visiting us, come back as often as you can.

Re: the passing of a Macrobiotic great

Cybertova, I feel like a shmuck. I just posted a question about your aunt's current activity on a different thread. I'm sorry. Your aunt's book was a huge inspiration to me when my first husband was going through a recurrence of Lymphoma in the early 90's. Do you mind if I ask how old she was when she passed and what she ended up dying from? I have thought of her often and had always wished I'd had a chance to meet her. Thank you. Medusa22

Re: the passing of a Macrobiotic great

My sincere sympathy to you and the post was very aptly named. Elaine was a tremendous inspiration to me and probably countless others when going through cancer recovery. After reading her book, I knew that I could make it and 20 years later, I am still alive to tell the tale.

Re: the passing of a Macrobiotic great

I also wanted to send my condolences, although rather past due. Your aunt was very helpful in helping my husband and I find a macro counselor, information and classes as she didn't hold them herself anymore. Her passing is a loss to everyone who knew her. I hope your family has found peace.
