Hi everybody,
I'm happy to participate in this forum! It's my firs forum ever... I'm fascinated by the Macrobiotic philosophy because it is so simple, it completely changed the way I see myself and the world around me. I love cooking and trying out new things so starting a macrobiotic diet was a very exciting adventure. I'm 25, nearly finished with my studies of English and Spanish lang& literature and my plan is to participate in one of the residential programs at the Kushi institute in Amsterdam as soon as I'm done with the Uni. So, any additional info would come in handy, especially from people who have been there or at any other Kushi institute. My wish is to bring Macrobiotics closer to younger people who still have time to change the way they live and eat, it's much easier than to wait till you get sick! So much for this time ![]() |

Re: Hi from Zagreb !!!
Hello!!
I notice you are from Serbia...my parents were born in Macedonia. Welcome! Have you checked out Mina Dobic's website? She is from Serbia and a macro counselor here in California. Mine, in fact. The site is www.minadobic.com. Cheers! Jeannette |

hi again
Thanx Jeannette for welcoming me
It still happens a lot to foreigners so dont't worry- but I have to correct you: Zagreb is actually the capital of Croatia, we did once belong to the same state with Serbia but it was long ago. I did hear of Mina, in the MAcrobiotic center here in Zagreb people from all over ex-Yugoslavia come to educate themselves (since it's the only such center in this part of Europe) so some of the ladies from Novi Sad and Beograd mentioned Mina. I'll check her website. ![]() |

Re: Hi from Zagreb !!!
Ah, I should have known better. I was actually thinking after I wrote that Zagreb isn't in Serbia. Duh. Well, I'm glad you are interested in macrobiotics! You should email Mina to see when she is coming to Europe again. I know she was recently there for some seminars. She is fantastic! Maybe you can hear her speak.
Have a wonderful day and healthy eating! Jeannette |

Re: Hi from Zagreb !!!
thank you for your wishes.
I am looking forward to see United States, as this is my first trip there. I got impression that California is very exciting place. I am a mother of two (girl 4,5 and boy 2y) and hope it will be a good place for us. We are going to San Francisco. I did my researches and i am very happy to find that i can continue with my macrobiotic lifestyle there too. Here is not always easy to find organicly grown fruits and vegetables, and as far as i know, that is not the case there. |

Re: Hi from Zagreb !!!
North of San Francisco is Mendocino - I haven't been there since the 60's, but it was wonderful then, and I'm sure is still wonderful. It had a small town astmosphere but so much was going on.
And you can get amazing sea vegetables there http://www.loveseaweed.com/default.html Actually, lots of wonderful areas in the entire Northern California area - enjoy. Klara |
