Recovering from Breast Cancer

Hi Everyone, I just discovered this site. I am transitioning into mb having been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in July. This is my third occurrence, the first two having been in situ.

I've known about mb for a long time (in 1981 my mother used mb to recover from breast cancer which had metastasized to the bone). However, I've found it was ONE thing to know about mb, quite another to implement it!

I'm interested in finding other women who are recovering, or have already recovered, from breast cancer via mb. I would love to have others to network with and receive hope from. Adding to the challenge is the fact that I am a food addict. Anyone familiar with food addiction and 12 Step recovery would be a real plus.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Rachel

[size=3][FONT=Arial NarrowHi to you too, Gary,

I already found the site you mentioned. It IS great. Thanks. And isn't THIS site wonderful, too? It just covers EVERYthing. Things have come a LONG WAYS since my mother fell ill in 1981. We were lucky to find a co-op and a Japanese food store! Personal computers were the size of portable sewing machines, and the internet was unimagined!

Look forward to hearing more from many others. Thanks again, Gary.

Rachel

Hello Rachel
I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer (spread to bones) and am trying to eat the macrobiotic way. I have a hard time also since I am a food addict.
Is your mom still doing well? Are soy products OK with estrogen receptor positive?
I eat lots of brown rice and beans and lots of fresh vegetables. It is very isolating since it is difficult to eat out. It has only been 2 months for me. I have a scan on Monday 4/12/08 - will know then if I am making progress.
Natalie
