Vegan and soon to be macrobiotic

Hello,

I am currently a vegan soon to be living in the Pittsburgh area. I have been reading about and considering switching to a macrobiotic vegan diet. I am awaiting a copy of Christina Pirello's cookbook along with three other macrobiotic guides to help ease into my new diet (and hopefully to convince my husband to at least try some of the dishes).

I began learning about macrobiotics after my mother was diagnosed two years ago with cancer. She has since recovered fully, and I feel it is predominantly due to her strong will and her abandonment of a meat-based diet. Because of her experiences I would like to make the change to a more centered, macrobiotic diet to promote health and also prevent any future possibility of cancer. I look forward to reading your posts and perhaps chatting with some of you.

Very nice to read your post, and I am glad to hear that everything worked out well for your mother. It would be great if you could let us know how things progesss as you make the transition to macrobiotics.
