hi.
Hi.
I just found this macro forum and wanted to say hi since i'm posting threads on it under health area. anyway, i am 23, from philadelphia USA, originally from Nashville TN. I have been macro for about two months. I was vegan for about a year and a half until last summer, when i quit because i was traveling so much and tired of watching my diet. I also quit excercising regularly cause i was traveling. I obtained a horrible diet after that for a while. I decided i had to get back into shape so i looked for a diet and found macrobiotics and thought it sounded good. It has improved my vision, made me happier, i sleep less, lost some weight, toned up a little, have better endurance. I just feel more natural too. due to my interest in health and nutrition i am going back to college in the fall to study nutrition food science. I want to be a holistic nutrition consultant someday. my hobbies are : music hot air ballooning aquariums cooking reading that's enough for now love, brent AIM name: crankbikes |

Re: hi.
Hi Brent,
It sounds like a great, up-and-coming career drive, that you are interested in. This is the wave of the future, healing the planet and ourselves, through food. You will be greatly inspired by this fab duo (Food Scientists) from Japan, Hiroko Fukuhara and Yasuko Takahata. I have three of their incredibly beautiful books (exceptional food photography), Healthy Japanese Cooking, Natural Remedies From the Japanese Kitchen, and Vegetarian Sushi Made Easy. Obtainable at Borders Bookstore or online at various bookstores. The population is in such distress with Obesity, Diabetes, Cancer, and Heart Disease, that there is much needed nutritional guidance for society. Food Scientists and Food Psychologists (Dr. Phil?) are in demand! Welcome, Nancy |

Re: hi.
Dear Brent,
Welcome to the group and nice to meet you. I am sending a link to the latest newsletter from the KI of Europe. This isssue is dedicated to Macrobtiocs and traveling, and maybe you can find some inspiration for keeping your diet while travling: http://www.macrobiotics.nl/newslette...July-2004.html I have done it myself while I was traveling n India for 7 month and keeping my diet, and also when I went camping in the US, and I have to say that it is more than possible, and only adds to the travel experience. All it requires is some planning in advance and motivation =) Wishing you all the best with your studies and your career, Karny |

Re: hi.
Hi Brent!
Great to hear from you. Welcome to the forums! Have you actually rode in a hot air balloon? I agree with Gary, that's a fascinating hobby to have! Very cool... Peace, Mara Quote:
