Thumbs up Other Macrobiotic Teens?

Hello! My name is Jackie and I'm very new to macrobiotics. I bought The Hip Chicks Guide to Macrobiotics a couple weeks ago and I've eliminated all processed food, dairy, meat, and egg. I feel pretty good but I'm still a fruit addict. I'm pretty lucky I was born half Japanese and I already love foods like nattou and nori and wakame that gross out my friends. The diet has greatly improved my skin! Anyways, I'm eighteen (3 months from graduation ) and I was wondering if there were any other macrobiotic teens out there? If not though great to 'meet' you all!

Hi Jackie,

How lucky you are to have a head start by appreciating all those "weird" foods

Check out the blogs on this site by soysycophant - she'll be a great inspiration to you. And yes, I remember reading others who were in your age group - Gary, any way to search members by age???

other than that, just read over some old posts - you may come across them.

so who cooks in your family??

Klara

Re: Other Macrobiotic Teens?

Thank you for the responses! Well my mom cooks sometimes but she's a busy career woman so I mainly cook for myself now. She teaches me all the basics and the weird rules (like not letting the kombu boil, and soaking gobo in vinegar so it doesn't turn brown) haha but I also try the recipes from my macrobiotic texts. I just started the rice fast though so food preparation will be a little easier from now.

Also, I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled on thursday, is there a 'macro' method of dealing or should I just take all the painkillers and make okayu for a few days?
