Kiley is on a distinguished road
Hi everyone

Im Kiley, just made my registration in this forum. Im so glad I found this! Ive never been vegetarian or in any kind of food restriction in the past , but after developing and struggling with bulimia for a few years, I got interested in macrobiotics. It was great in the beginning but then I realized my life was all about food, I could not think in anything else and in the end restricting food was not doing any good for my eating disorder recovery and I blamed macrobiotics for driving me crazy for a while. I tried so many kinds of diets and recovering programs but Ive never been fully successfully in any of them. Finally with the help of God and prayers, I understand a bit more of this disease and how the food plays the main role in our mental health. I decided then to go back to a restriction diet. I guess I just needed time to finally settle down to macrobiotics. Im still a beginner though , but I already feel much better and with less cravings by restricting sugar for the past two weeks. I hope this forum helps me to really get into macrobiotics and to bring me a new life!
love,
Kiley

Re: Hi everyone

Kiley,

I hope so too.

Besides eliminating sugar from your diet - perhaps you can also get rid of the word restricting.

Macrobiotics is about Great Life - and being balanced - so truly hope you can see it not as about denying yourself, but rather about giving to yourself.

There's amazing wonderful food in macrobiotics. Explore the sweet vegetables, onions, carrots, winter squashes, cabbages - they will help you not miss that other sugar which didn't do any good for your body.

Good luck - and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

Klara

Re: Hi everyone

Hi Kiley,
I am new too. I have also tried alot of diets over the years. Being wholesome is the best place to be. Just remember that we are what we eat. Chemicals and processing will only hurt us in the long run. Your first step in your journey has begun and we will all support you.
