Hey

My name is Alex Shenker. I'm a Shiatsu Therapist and a Macrobiotics workshop was a part of my diploma program. I don't intend to be very strict with the diet, as I don't like to limit myself or feel guilty, or unaccomidating when I'm out, but when I cook for myself, I like to use macrobiotics. I'm going on a macro-bindge to hopefully get rid of my mild case of psoriasis. This seems like a great community, and macrobiotics is something I would definetly like to learn more about.

Re: Hey

Tenshin

Welcome!

We are all limited. Our limitations define our indentity. The point of this food is to work within our limitations and be the fullest we can be.

Psoriasis has defined a limitation for you. Work within your limitations and you can solve this problem. "A man's got to know his limitations."

I choose to remark about your concern to be unlimited and not feel guilty. This is something that a lot of people graple with, especially the guilt factor.
I see no need to feel guilt at all. Who is judging you? What is it that you want? If you "cheat' on the diet, who loses? Guilt comes when one knows deep down inside that a particular action is selling one's self short. You are your own judge, worst enemy or best friend. It is you who will pay for your own actions.

The universe is limitless and therefore so are we---within the limit of being a human being. As yin and yang are always together in some form, the greatest freedom is within the greatest limitations.

If you feel guilt you probably deserve it. There really is no need for it. Take the reflection of the limitations that you are presented with. They will lead you to your best path. The more honest you are with youself, the fuller you will be---less "dis-ease". When we truely and honestly confront a problem (limitation) it seems to magically disolve.

Accomodating your own needs is not a sign of ungraciousness. When you are
'out', be true to yourself. You are completely free to live within you own limitations. Knowing and encompassing them is the key.

There are many people on this list with much information and expirience. Draw from it and make it your own.

May your journey take you deeper than you had imagined!

Manymoons

Re: Hey

Thanks for the inspiring words! You're right about limitations. I need to set my own boundaries and live freely within them. Knowing and respecting my limits as something particular to my life makes guilt impossible. When it comes down to it, my limits are just what I'm willing to do with my best interests in mind. It has nothing to do with anyone else, or the limits they live by!
Thanks!
