help me get started!!

hello!!!

i just recently sat down on my couch, a box of Trix cereal in my lap- and realizd- i am NOT healthy and i need to do something about it. I have been try- and failing- to loose weight by not eating... or and overdose of excersise and im done with that. i started researching health options and came across macrbiotics.

i am very excited about making this transition- and i bought "The Hip Chicks Guide to Macrobiotics" but i would still really appreciate it if someone could give me a simple nudge to starting (what should i get at the store... maybe a menu for the first starting week, whats the deal about the chewing...etc.)

okay thank you very much!!!!!

Re: help me get started!!

Hi Pinkdarko~

I am new to macrobiotics as well. Even though I do not have much advice for you I thought that I would say hello due to the fact that the first book I read regarding mb was "The Hip Chicks Guide to Macrobiotics".

Another great book that I have read is "Glow" by Christina Pirello. I liked this book because it shows you how to physically read the nutrient needs of your own body. For example, she discusses dark circles under the eyes and the imbalances in one's diet that are causing them. She then gives recipes to remedy this condition as well as many others.

I found this book helpful because it really has given me a starting point of what food choices to make that are geared in helping me gain some dietary balance...and the recipes I have tried have been pretty tasty too.

Hope this helps,
Apple
