i am...

a 26(almost 27!) year old single mama of three. almost five years ago i was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had just given birth to my second child, a girl, when i had surgery to remove a tumor in my thyroid, along with my whole thyroid. Routine medicine suggested i have radiation therapy, though this did not sit well with me, and i declined. I was currently scratching the surface of learning about what allows a person to be healthy, and where disease comes from. i continued to learn, as i felt the secret lie with food, somewhere, somehow. I did not discover macrobiotics until last year, in the summer. I was sick for the umpteenth time when i began reading a book called recovery from cancer by elaine nussbaum(i found this book at a library book sale-coincidence?). Something just clicked. i went out and bought proper cookware and traveled 21/2 hours away once a week for a month to attend cooking classes. over the past year i have incorporated macrobiotic principals into my diet and life and am currently moving towards a complete macrobiotic diet. i guess the biggest thing that holds me back is feeling like im the only one. stupid i know. ill keep working till im where i need to be. (of course then things will change and ill need to change with them lol but oh well!)bye!
