Macro Bug

Hi all, my friends call me D. I heard about macrobiotics about a month ago through a women at work. I hadn't bumped into her in a quite a while. She had been to the Kushi institute and started the macro lifestyle. She was 30lbs lighter and looked spectacular. Her dramatic changed really motivated and intrigued me. I got bit by the macro bug! I started researching online and delved into the book the 'Macrobiotic Way'. I read the whole book in one weekend. I started buying the organic and whole grain products and cooking from Aveline Kushi's cookbook and now have started yet another macro book.

It's been two weeks since I started this change. I lost a few pounds, but nothing significant so far. The first week I felt great and this second week I have just felt very tired - no energy. But overall I feel better knowing I am defeating the sugary cravings I had prior to the diet and eating more healthy foods.

I am still trying to soak in as much info as I can sa fast as I can. For example, I am having difficulty figure out how to translate the percentages of foods. In my mind, I deal in cups - so this has been very challenging and I don't think I have been doing such a great job with it. All I can say is that I try and I definitely primarily eat more grains than veggies. Is there a good method to doing this?

I also never really felt a 'de-sludge' or 'discharge' so far as I have read about on several occasions. This makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong.

I would love to hear how other people plan eating at work and cooking beforehand, since many foods take a long time. I already get up really early to make it to work on time.

If anyone can lend some advice, I would appreciate it much!

D

P.S. I passed on the bug to my sister who just ordered a few Macro books herself!
